Builds for the Hendon Show
Neptune
Welsh Harp Sea Monster
Connie Francis- I won't glue the propellers on
The two F-16 look-a-likes , well they started life as F-16s just kept adding bits from other kits.

Couldn't get to sleep tonight , picked up the mad hatter. The landing gear is way too high and I managed to damage the float hull. The plastic is very brittle, then I remembered reading about an Canadian Buffalo that had been fitted with a air cushion landing system. There is a 1/144 scale model but the EC-130V I'm kitbashing is in 1/72 scale. Using parts from an Airfix 1/144 BHC SR.N4 Hovercraft I have almost finished building the cushion/skirt. Just need to finish the ends and re-position the floats. Air scoops can act as generators fitted to the fuselage and above the wing to cool down the rotodome/spin top . Just the propellers and to choose a suitable paint scheme after sanding down the filler.

Been scrolling though other builds of the B-29 and B-47 on this site.
An all jet powered B-29/50 could be built with a pair of Nimrod wings, might need to change the vertical tail to the Nimrod.
As to the B-47,parts from the Airfix S-3 Viking and a dip into the spare parts bin.Making a maritime kitbash.

Knackered, haven't even picked a build so far. I know I'm in for the boring bit of sanding, filler and sanding.

I keep coming up with ideas for future builds which is anonying as I should be finishing off my present builds.
Got some more time off the week after, then down to Cornwall to see my folks.

I jot my ideas in a notepad and try and keep then in some form of order (period/AF/type, sort of thing). That seems to get them out of the front of my mind and enables me to get on with the current builds. I found that used to help at work as well.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Photos Jim...the people need photos. Maybe start a thread for each build ? It's nice to check in here and see what you're up to but it's also hard to keep track of/ visualize.

A photobucket account is easy to set up and even easier to attach pics to your posts....

Other than that, it all sounds pretty interesting !

I'll start a thread when the builds are painted. Can't get any clear details as most are covered in filler at present. I'm hoping to get some pics up at the end of March .

Sounds like a plan Stan ! Love all these big aeroplanes you're working on...especially the boats.

Once I've got the hang of putting pics up on here, I can start on my helicopter projects.

I'm suprised that the coach going down from the London Victoria coach station isn't sold out. Got an idea for a coach whiff but I've only seen the Revell 1/24 kit and that's expensive.
Everything is on hold, a busy day on Wednesday. What's happening to the weather , it's freezing in the mornings?
There is a model shop in Truro , I'll check it out.

De-cluttering is a great way to gain some modelling motivation. Mojo.

Some of my early whiff ideas that I haven't got around to build or tried but failed are now being researched by fellow whiffers.
As you know it takes ages for me to build anything unless a donor "spares or repairs" lads in my lap which just needs tweaking.
The Br1150 Atlantic AEW idea will go ahead as I have the anniversary edition in my stash. A four engine combo similar layout to the Lockheed Neptune.
I did start cutting up a Revell Alternomad Caprice 87 for a pickup conversion. Must buy two more Revell kits. One the Ute and the other as a five door station wagon. I've seen pictures on Google and they look good, although a Doormobile version might be a better solution as it is wider than the Austin FX4 taxi. The Japanese kit is the same moulding as Revell ,but if I use parts from the 1/24 Porsche Carrera2 could change things. Lights and wheels, seats.
Still more builds for Honest Johns car lot.
