Well I had a few days off last week, whilst waiting for my pay to clear and raided my spare parts bin. After the top layer was cleared I came across a box marked 'Helicopter Spares'. It seems that I bought a lucky dip box at a jumble sale and just forgot about it. They're all in 1/72 scale and missing vital parts.
I've managed to seperate the pieces into the following piles:
Westland
Scout-skid broken, no rotor blades
Puma- no wheels, no rear rotor, no rotor blades, no interior, lefthandside glazed door missing
Apache- just the cockpit/front half
Whirlwind- most parts broken. Needs total rebuild.

Huey- glazing missing, skid needs repair.

The Apache will be used on either a Sea King or Sea Knight build.
As to the others, I've got an idea to display them as seen. Creating a workshop or restoration scene.

My knocked one of my builds over last week, (the griffon powered C-69 Connie) and have been trying to restore it. The Frog exhaust pipes are clogged up with 6 layers of paint. These have been removed and replaced with the exhaust pipes from the Revell Lancaster 1/72 kit. The Airfix decals have been removed as well and the AEW resin radome from the Aeroclub Shackleton conversion kit added. The aqua blue paint scheme will be rubbed down and sprayed mat black, with silver windows. Might try out my new scriber and add a cargo door.
As to the 1/144 Globemaster, (now I've got my hands on a 1/72 CV-22 Osprey) the heavy tilting-wing  build can go a head. The rest of the CV-22 will be crossed with parts left over from a Airfix Rotordyne.
I can now crack on with my car builds as two new kits have arrived, just need a box suitable to be turned into a garage showroom.

Slow progress on the Griffon powered Connie rebuild.
Resin hose & drogue tanks removed from Avro Carlton build, will become civil airliner (Shackleton & Connie wings).
Revel Atlantic and Mach2 Atlantic engines will be used on the Airfix Super G, XB-30 project.
Started work on the Bucc twin boom project. Main undercarriage doors glue shut, wings removed and tail removed. Magna resin kit boom assembled, dry run with the tail section-loose fit, width needs reducing.
Hump reduced on the F-16B/mini SR-71.
Eurodart (eurofighter Typhoon with F-16 wings), filler sanded down ready for painting.
P-1, Airfix Nimrod wings assembled. Fuselage of P-3 Orion modified for new wings and weapons bay.

Request to build FX4 Ute by fellow Whiffer.
Convair King Fish, rethink. Gone for a smaller fuselage, Mirage IVA and F-117.
TB-58D, engines fitted on top of the delta wing. Additional crew station making it a four seater.
S-3 Viking will have its' engines over the wing similar to the An-72/74.
B-66 will have a pair of turboprop engines and turned into an MPA aircraft.
Playfix Hook to get turoprop engines fitted to stub wings, Osprey tail. Loading ramp and cockpit.

Transforming the Avro Carlton into an airliner,  will this make it an Avro Coniston??

Well I'm using a Frog Shackleton fueslage and Connie C-69; wings, engines, landing gear and tip tanks. An  Avro Shackonnie was another choice, but I'll stck to the Carlton as it sounds better.

The Short Stirling new wing is looking good, just need to sand down the filler.

I'm using an old Airfix broken Buccaneer , main undercarriage snapped off. With the resin twin boom from a Magna Sea Vixen . The boom ends swapped over for a better fit. As l have cut the wings off the Bucc, glued the resin stub to the fuselage and reglued the wings giving a dog tooth .I will try and get some metal undercarriage legs .

Got ten days leave coming up second week of October so I am aiming to get a few of the started builds to the painting stage . If there are any outstanding payments, these will be felt with .
A day out at The Making of Harry Potter before the price goes up again .
A few days in Falmouth Cornwall visiting the family .
I can spend some time in a internet café and download my pictures to this site.

Hummmmm .......    I have to agree with you,my friend.

Been down to the Eden Project yesterday and if you haven't been it caters for all. .You don't have to be a gardener as there are plenty of whiffing ideas scattered around .
As you know I have caught the B-29 bug and although the KJ -1 AWACS kit is one weeks pay packet for the conversion ,I have opted to do my own version by using a Hawkeye and four Tyne  turbo prop engines from my stash .I've been thinking about a turbo jet version (IL-22) and use the vertical tail on the Carlton .I know that some New-29s where fitted with in-flight refueling and used as tankers .The USNavy also flew them as sub hunters.
Still got lots to do on my return .

Are we ever going to see any pictures of these creations though?

Looks like 2014/15 will be very busy that's if I don't get side tracked into building something entirely different .Got a production line going for the cockpits and wings . I need to invest in some modelers tools.
