This is my attempt of building a jet version of the Shackleton Mk3 (pictures on my Facebook page under; Steven James McColm. Got my Royal Auxiliary Air Force uniform on with my air efficiency award).
The two pairs of her engines are off a B-47 kit. The vertical tail fin is from an Airfix B-29. The wings have been filed down and squared off. The resin Mk2 weapons bay has been applied back-to-front as this is a better fit. The raised glass in the nose / gunners or observers seat removed and filled in.
The white metal main landing gear for the Rare Planes vacform HP Victor is a good fit.Just needs tyding up.

As already mentioned I have two SeaMaster kits; Mach2 and the Anigrand model.
The revised plan is to build a AEW using the Anigrand kit and the Mach2 kit as a water bomber or cargo/Airliner  (SeaMistress).A false floor is possible if the inner fuselage could be sanded.Either two large cargo doors scribes or placed in the open position. Maybe some windows and seating.
Going to have to get another one, either a kitbashed  job or one of the other two kits.
I believe that there was only three Mk1s and three Mk2s built
although the numbers had dropped down to eight as ordered by the USNavy before being cancelled in 1959.
Further research suggests that the SeaMistress was a much larger seaplane looking similar to that of the Lockheed C-5 in size with 8 jet engines instead of 4 but in the same layout as the SeaMaster. Whilst others suggest that the SeaMistress was the general name for the civilian SeaMaster.
In Chris Gibson's book "Nimrod a Genis " there is the briefest of mentions.
Part2
The AirWaves resin EW tail fairing  doesn't fit on the Anigrand kit.Haven't tried it on the Mach2 model. Will have to have a rethink on which kit to convert to the Albatross and Mermaid.

The Revell 1/72 Blohm + Voss Bv 222 v2 model kit is something I bought but had to sell when times were hard but the idea to build a jet powered version is now feasible.
With the removal of the guns and filling in the nose the Boeing 747 shape of the fuselage can be seen. A pair of swept back wings with the engines above the wings (SeaMaster style).
As the price of the 1/72 Lockheed C-5 Galaxy is beyond my price range this could resemble a mini-SeaMistress.  Although the Wiking/Viking wasn't small.
A six jet engined version as a civi airliner as the aircraft was intended to be a transatlantic passenger service. The parts suggest a cargo/ combo variant.
A hinged nose and a possible T-tail. There's a beaching cart but if I can I'd go for a landing gear.

The wings could be reworked with the Super-G Constellation for the Starliner.

As discussed the base could be from an An-124 in 1/144 scale.T-tail and new shaped hull blended into the fuselage. Engines refitted above the wings. The landing gear could be lowered as an amphibious aircraft.

Another idea for one of the SeaMasters is using the wings off a B-58 kit. Keeping the landing gear.

Whiffing is like waiting for a bus. You wait ages and two turn up at once.
Been after the USCoast Guard decals for ages and then I find a C-130J kit at a reasonable price plus another C-130E/H with Coast Guard decals added.
The Revell Br.1150 Atlantic would look good with these decals,  perhaps the HP Victor Mk3 AEW. As they are both large kits a white gloss rattle can.

Ideas for what to do with the spare C-130 have flashed in my mind. A wide bodied Comet C5 was mentioned. A kitbash with Airfix BAe Nimrod parts. Could work, prices are coming down.

I think after the current batch of builds I should make a few car kits.
Got an idea for the two worst 1/24 Ford Capri /Mercury kits.A five door. Cutting the two front halves and joining them together. That then gives you four doors.By cutting and realigning the rear hatchback on the new rear section.
Using back to back doors isn't new.
The interior can be built from the leftovers with the front and rear grill & bumpers.

Eager Whiffers will be pleased to know that my three weeks leave for March has been confirmed.
I know that you lot like pictures of my builds. I prefer a bit of colour on them as the details can blurt into each other.
I haven't had much luck on replacing the flaps on the Airfix B-29, the Academy kits don't seem to fit. So a raid of the resin Avro Shackleton Mk2 conversion kit is close enough.
I shall extend the artwork Union Jack (Union Flag) to the rest of the fuselage and wings. Propellers from a C-130 kit will replace the three blades. Means replacing the spinners as well.
I will use the aerials from the Shackleton Mk3 kit.
Shorts-Martin Seagull,  starting to look good. Need to add the rear lumps and bumps, propellers, glazed  canopy,  refuelling probe and scribe rear cargo doors or cheat with a decal instead. The is an Air Squadron resin kit with the hose & drogue and infrared targeting. Paint scheme to be sourced.
Bristol-Rotodyne "Biffo" .The bells and whistles makes this look like a cross between the V-22 Osprey and a MH-53 with wing stubs without the rear loading ramp. The deflated radome finishes off this build.  Will use the USMarines decals.
Skyguardian just needs the undercarriage added plus a paint scheme.  Was thinking of a large display stand and another for the HP Victor Mk3 AEW.
Nighthawk is making steady progress.
Shack with the stack, causing problems but I'll raid the spares for suitable triple tail fins.
Proteus can finally be finished.
Definitely will need a shelving unit.
Then a break down to Cornwall.

We like pictures with builds, regardless of who the modeller is.

Just had a thought of kitbashing the 1/72 Revell Blohm and Voss Bv-222A  with the wings, engines vertical tail from the Airfix Avro Vulcan kit. By the removal of the guns which could be used on the Airfix Bristol Superfreighter as a gunship/ground attack.
