No doubt. Moving is one of my most hated activities, hands down. I don't envy you your position!  Take care...

Just thinking what if the Avro Lincoln was used as an in-flight refuelling tanker for the Avro Shackleton. Based around my idea of using the Lockheed Neptune P2V-7/ P-2H as a three point tanker. Flying boom and two hose and reel pods under the wings.
The tanker could go down the Lincolnian route and have a pair of hose and reel pods under the wings.

A Lancaster/Lincoln-based tanker wouldn't need the gun turrets or the crew to operate them, so why not put a Lancastrian nose + tail conversion on it (Blackbird do the bits)? That'd make it more aerodynamic so it'd burn less precious fuel too.

The thing I fancy is a high-speed, high-altitude Avro using a Lancaster fuselage with a Lancastrian conversion and Shackleton wings: slipperyest fuselage with the most powerful engines, basically. Canopy from a Canberra B.2 to indicate that it's pressurized.

#891
I received the 1/72 Contrail Model Avro Lincoln B1 and B11, B30 Mk31&32 set.
Although it is secondhand it is lacking the clear cockpit canopy, but I have a Airfix Lancaster B2 so I will be using some of the parts from this,as well as using some other parts on the Avro York.
The kit comes with the additional long nose and alternative standard B11 bomb bay. There's also the 22,000lb Grand Slam bomb cast in error.
The wings will come from a Frog/Novo Avro Shackleton likewise the engines but without the contra-rotating propellers.
The vacform Avro Lincolnian nose & rear cones will be added on, along with a refuelling probe.

Got another idea for the Avro Lincoln from some of the development Lancasters.
By replacing the outer engines with jets. A deeper bomb bay and saddle tanks.

Interesting... And 4 jets on the next generation?

A four jet Avro Lincoln now that's an idea. Bungle sent me an early B-52G and with the Frog Avro Shackleton wings they should fit.
I tapped in 'C-118" in search but nothing came up. I would have thought that the Douglas DC-6 would be popular on this site. I managed to buy a secondhand already built 1/72 C-118 in USAF decals, although there was a few parts missing, the propellers had the plastic circles representing the engines in flight and the landing gear up with a stand. It reminded me of an idea to build the Canadair South Star with Merlin engines.
Of course this will be put on hold until after I move into my new place.
This time I have labeled the boxes

With all the packing going on, I had an idea for the Boeing C-97. It seems to me that the Stratocruiser was the workhorse of the USAF until the arrival of the KC-135 in the tanker role and C-130.
So what if the C-97 had been kitted out with the weapons bays from the B-29/50.
The XC-97s used the wings, engines, fin and rudder from the B-29 where as the YC-97 used the same parts from the B-50.
So you could have the AC-97, for maritime surveillance the PC-97.
For the MC or LC versions the range of options from David J.Parkins FlighTPath.
Even an all jet version could be built.

There's been an extension on my departure date it's not until August. Which is a relief, but I still need to find a place. Some of the builds will now get finished the others are in storage boxes.

It's been done...  Here's my Avro Alston B.III.  It was on the SIG stand in 2015.

Just had a thought pop into my head. What if the Avro Lancastrian, Lincolnian and York got the same treatment as Avro Carlton.
They all could carry the AN/APS-20 radar behind the cockpit canopy.
The York is wide enough to on the Grumman E-1 and E-2 radomes.
The Airfix Lancaster BII with the parts from S+M Models can be converted into the Lancastrain, whereas the Airfix Shackleton will get the Carlton treatment, turboprops.
The Lincoln's were used as test/research aircraft.
The York, I came across some resin Lancaster tail fins and a pair of Lancaster wings, so I'll use them on the build.

I came across an article recently saying that the Indian Navy have retired their Tu-142M fleet as the P-8I Poseidon are replacing them in AirForces Monthly May edition.
Another article caught my eye 'In the Shadows'. Civilian intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance companies are performing military roles overseas. This got me thinking on my Lockheed Wraith project, give it a civvie registration.
Got a few civil aircraft kits in the stash, with a few lumps and bumps, even the Sky Guardian could be adapted.

Well it looks like I don't have to move out for a couple of years. The decorators are in and refurbishing the kitchen. The hall has been painted and they will be working on the bedrooms soon.
Everything is boxed up, I've got enough spares to finish off the current builds although you might find the odd one recycled or removed from my current list. Well that's what happened to the Neptune flying boom tanker, damaged beyond repair.
I can't seem to find the Anigrand Martin SeaMaster either.
I'm going to start on my 1/24 (1/25) car builds before anything else gets broken or nicked. I came across the 1/24 or 1/25 resin Batmobile. It looks a bit crude in the moulding, with some puty/filler it could be transformed into a convertible. There are parts missing.
