I glued up the wheel housing doors and I am building the stand from the Revell Boeing 747-100 kit. The tail planes are glued into position.

Inbetween this work on the Airfix Mosquito and the Caravelle & Nimrod kitbash continues. The 1/144 Revell Boeing 747-100 wings and outer landing gear are glued in place either side of the fuselage.
Also part of the HP Victor T-tail has been glued to the vertical tail fin of the Airfix BAe Nimrod. The side pouches from the Boeing RC-135 W/V have been glued to the fuselage of the Caravelle.
I think I will call this build the Condor ,

The King Neptune was had it's share of puty/filler plus two struts one on each side of the engines to keep the radome sturdy.

Quote from: McColm on December 30, 2016, 11:26:22 PMThe Revell BV222 Viking, looked at this before and I keep thinking of adding the wings from the Airfix HS/BAe Nimrod to make a jet flying boat. Remove guns .

Wings, though, are from an Avro Atlantic
Thanks,
I shall use this as a guide, I might have a pair of Vulcan wings in the stash.
The Airmodel 1/72 Kit 155 vacform Blohm & Voss BV222A (V4) Wiking arrived today. It's a bit squashed on the right side of the fuselage. I'm thinking of using bulkheads as I'll need to reinforce the wing section. The kit only came with one clear canopy with upper gun turrets but no gun barrels. I could scratch build some sort of landing gear. I'll add extra windows.
The wings might fit the Heller Lockheed Constellation.

Eric the Viking has gone plastic, I found the wings and engines from a Airfix Vulcan kit. I don't have the  engine fans so I might make a pair of FOD covers instead..

Updates 21/07/2017

The King Neptune continues to have bits of puty/filler added to it. I made two struts to support the teardrop radome and glued them onto the tops of the two engines.
There's pictures up on my facebook page and a few more in the next two weeks.

Eric the Viking- I've given the build a full day to dry out. Although the windows are big you can't see much of the interior, so I didn't add any. Perhaps next time I'll open the fuselage doors.

BAe Sentinel- I'm not too sure on whether to trim the nose, giving it the Caravelle/ Comet look or just leaving it alone. PSR.

I came up with a kitbash based on the 'Fat Avro Vulcan. I used the Airfix Avro Vulcan wing minus the engines, fuselage is from a Hasegawa Lockheed Martin P-3C Orion. The front nose cone is the resin Cammett BAe Nimrod AEW3 with an Airfix BAe Nimrod glazed canopy. The engines are from a 1/48 Lockheed S-3B Viking and are glued to the upper wing. The wings droop downwards. I haven't fitted a replacement tail or the undercarriage.

Any ideas for a suitable paint scheme are welcome?
White seems a common colour for flying boats, with a blue or red stripe.

Been thinking of going along the lines of the Short Mayo- piggyback idea. To break up the expanse of the delta wing. The only build small enough to fit is the 1/72 Mach2 WB-57E. I have added a new nose and lumps & bumps.
I just need to scratch build an undercarriage and I could use the tresel from the Space shuttle kit.

This has got to be one of the better kits from the 1/72 Mach2 range.
Yes there's plenty of flash to clean up on the mouldings, sink holes and stubs to file down, but at least the two fuselage halves line up without any major problems. The glazing is opaque, but with the loading ramp down there is ample room for detailing the interior.
You get the single sheet of instructions in English and in French although one part does appear to be missing if you want to build the SA321A (engine air-intakes). The B model with the air filter comes with the kit as standard.
I'm basing my build on the Changhe Z-18Y Black Bat flown by the Chinese and adding the AEW radome from the Westland Sea King AEW.Mk2/ASaC.Mk7  plus etching ,decals and parts from various other helicopters.

Thanks Captain Canada,
I tried to get my build of Eric the Viking as close to the drawing as possible.
There's still a lot of work to be done around the Vulcan wing.
I'm glad that you liked it

I been building this Whiff for quite some time, based on the 1/72 Mach2 A.W . Argosy with the wings and twin tail-twin booms from the AC-119 G/K Gunship. I added the mini-guns and a third tail fin, twin Type engines and an turbojet for auxiliary power above the main fuselage. I lost the canopy and replaced it with the one from the AC-119. The wingtips now have rocket pods.
The colour scheme is based on the USAF South Asia/ Vietnam pattern but needs repainting due to the updates and repairs.
I recently received the vacform Airmodel conversion set for the Lockheed C-130 ;
AC-130A/H
LC-130R
C-130K W.Mk.2
The instructions are printed in German. Although the guns aren't supplied with the kit there are detailed drawings of the AC-130 A/H.
Having snapped off the AC-119 main landing gear a few times I was thinking about adding the landing gear to the fuselage.
The Airmodel conversion set comes with the LC-130R skis in the lowered form to include the landing gear and the raised format.
In the raised from these look like floats to me, possible Polar (Express) Maritime surveillance aircraft.

Well that's it no more whiffing for five days.
Maybe my three flying boats would look better in some sort of sea port scene. I think that I discussed this before, but I never got around to building it.
The Super Frelon still looks a bit dark inside, so I might close the rear ramp and just add the inflatable dustbin to the side.
Whereas the Bristol Belverdere has the option for the cargo door to be opened.
I found a CH-47 Chinook in the spares box. This was proposed carrier for an AEW radar. I might need to make a extend the rotating arm so it clears the fuselage  or extend the nose..
