Update on the Martin Majestic, the resin Cammett BAe Nimrod AEW3 rear radome has been cut to fit the front of the Mach2 Martin SeaMaster. It's a good fit.
I did a dry fit of the main landing gear from a Italeri AC-130A and that also fits.
The build still needs a lot of work to get it to the paint stage.
The Mystic on the other hand looks good on a sheet of polystyrene which needs painting blue, with filler to represent waves/ ripples.
Updated on the Martin Majestic
Both resin Cammett BAe Nimrod AEW.3 radomes have been Superglued to the SeaMaster. The main landing gear and wheels are in place. I has to remove some plastic either side of the fuselage to get them to fit snugly. It's a bit of a tail sitter at the moment but I did manage to find one land leg of a C-119 which should prevent this.
Had some good feedback from Facebook especially on the Whatif site.
There's still a long way to go before the paint stage.

This is my 1/72 Mach2  Martin SeaMaster it has the resin Cammett BAe Nimrod AEW radomes, AC-130A main landing gear, scratch built V-tail and Rolls-Royce Spey engines. Aka Martin Majestic AEW.1
Got the idea from one of my other builds the Vickers/Breguet Br1250A  Mystic AEW.1

Top to are the Breguet Mystic jet flying boat with a V-tail.
Bottom two are based on the Revell B-!7E with floats and triple engines.
Here's the Mystic for comparison!

I have often wondered what if the UK MOD had chosen the Sikorsky HH-3E and built it under licence.
The Commando would still have been built but the Pelican might have been an alternative.
I'm using the 1/72 Starfix kit as the donor and added parts from a Revell Sea King. It's going to be a AEW & C with the deflated dustbin.
I'm already having issues as the two kits are different sizes. A little trimming and they should fit.
A part from the cockpit, there's nothing to see inside. So I have left this empty.
I'll use the benches on the Super Frelon.

I finished the 1/48 Messerschmitt BF109.
Inbetween working on the kit, I started adding parts to the 1/72 HH-3 Jolly Green Giant/Pelican helicopter from a Revell Sea King AEW.
The swing arm is fitted on the left side of the forward fuselage. The Mk5 radome and tail rotors are also from the AEW kit. So too is the air filter to the engines.

This is based around the 1/72 Heller Lockheed EC-121 Warning Star kit.
The bomb bays are from a B-29 , the cockpit also comes from a B-29 including the nose wheel, glazing , upper and lower turrets. The landing gear will come from the B-29 with turboprop engines.
Paint scheme USAF South Asia experimental camouflage.

The need to get some of my started builds to the paint stage is ever present.
Having joined a few modeling groups on facebook, the standard is high in the finishing stage.
I 've taken on the challenge of creating a Festival of Remembrance Hawker Hurricane in 1/48 as a commissioned build. I found some poppy transfers on line and intend to use a rattle can of high gloss white paint and a can of clear gloss over the top. The customer has asked for the gear up and straight out of the box cockpit.
I'm tempted to use the poppy transfers on another build of mine.

Stumbled on an idea of kitbashing a Airfix Avro Vulcan with an Airfix BAe Nimrod.
Lobbed off the front part of the Vulcan and bomb bay. Removed the landing gear, tail fin and rear cone.
The Nimrod wings, tail fins and weapons bay need removing.
Turned the Vulcan upside down and slotted in place. In hindsight I should have fitted the Vulcan wings the right way up, but both kits were already  90% built.
This looks a bit like the Avro 722 Atlantic in many ways.
I've been looking for 1/72 BOAC decals and Dan Air . Might have some in the stash.
