In the early hours of this morning my Vodafone tablet Samsung Galaxy A6 has died, the flickering light faded during it's last recharge of the battery. I have seen those black bars before.
I will pick up a new tablet during the Boxing day sales.

Nick

I got Mum a Lenovo tablet from Currys in the sale last week. Lots of shops still have Black Friday deals going on but I guess you might need to save up some cash first.

I'm waiting for my holiday pay to arrive next month.

Quote from: McColm on December 30, 2016, 11:26:22 PMThe Revell BV222 Viking, looked at this before and I keep thinking of adding the wings from the Airfix HS/BAe Nimrod to make a jet flying boat. Remove guns .

Wings, though, are from an Avro Atlantic
I have this in plastic

I knew I saw this idea, it's taken me ages to match them up.
A definite build for 2022.
The old Airfix Avro Vulcan and the Revell Blohm & Voss BV222.

I'm sorry to tell you, but that wouldn't be a Whiff.

Avro converted the York prototype, LV626, to the one and only York Mk.2 with Hercules engines. I can't find a pic of the actual aircraft on the Net, but there is one in one of my reference books. I found this though.

And I've got all the bits to do one too ---
Avro Shackleton engines would look good with the Mach2 York  kit.

This could work with the Mach2 VC10 using the Mastercaster  BAe Nimrod  AEW3 conversion set.

Here's a load of started builds
Yes that really is the Mach2 Martin SeaMaster with the wings from the Matchbox/Revell HP Victor.

I knew that I had those photos but I didn't know where they were  , I'm still waiting for the puty to arrive so I can finish off my four started builds.
The 1/72 C-160 and C-97 will remain in their boxes.
I know where I can get a second C-160 from to create a four engined version.
A Nene engine Avro Shackleton would make a great project.
If I glued the wings from the Revell/Monogram  B-36 Peacemaker together would they form a flying wing?

It certainly does..............or indeed any York kit, specially a lengthened one.  ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

I can visualise the Avro York with a pair of Rolls-Royce Nene engines or four Nenes.

I'm back to PSR on the 1/72 builds:
UH-71 Kestral Gunship
AV-22 Osprey
Bell Chinodyne (definitely needs primer).
I might do a bit of pre painting on the
C-160 and C-97.

Have you noticed that the 1/72 Italeri instructions for the No.1219 EH-101 Merlin Has.1 and No.1226 Cormorant don't come with blanking plates for the windows?
I follow the instructions and when I get to the painting bit on the last page some of the fuselage windows are missing.
I know that the HAS.1 did change it's designation with the Royal Navy and that the Mk2 layout is different but the Cormorant should be the same.

Hi Guys,
I had a call from the council saying I can pick up my keys on Wednesday 15th December. I have arranged with a mate of mine to help me with the move and a big shop for essential items.
No more whiffery until the new year.
