Hi Guys,
I had a call from the council saying I can pick up my keys on Wednesday 15th December. I have arranged with a mate of mine to help me with the move and a big shop for essential items.
No more whiffery until the new year.

Most definitely a piece of good news.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Brilliant!  What a relief, yeah? After all that was going on earlier in the year, you're now finishing 2021 on a strong note.

Thanks.
I have come to the conclusion that everything has a purpose in life. Without my stay in hospital I would never have got a council flat.

Picked up my keys for my new council flat but I can't move in until Friday after 3pm. Council rules and regulations.
Temporary unpacking is underway, wash kit and phone charger found.
Might treat myself to a pizza, saves washing up.

Thanks for all your messages, loads of design ideas for the lounge and bedroom layouts are available online, but you know me I will design something completely different .
I still think using bookshelves as a baseboard for my 00gauge train layout will work in an end to end. Which means I can run  a O or G gauge above it on another shelf.
The rest of the shelves will be used to display my builds. Then I can paint back ground scenery.
I'm thinking about a wooden floor which will keep the carpet monster at bay.
Second thoughts I have seen the prices of a wooden floor, that's on hold, linoleum!

That's in the future, for now it's just adapting to my new surroundings.

An ex-army mate helped me move nearly all of my stuff into my new council flat. He has given me a wooden bunk bed, the mattress will need replacing but for the meantime at least I have something to sit on.
The front door key isn't balanced for a moment I thought that I was locked out but a helpful neighbour soon put me at ease.
Staycity Apartments has let me stay until 12pm on Monday but I will have gone by then as my Physiotherapist is assessing my flat which will provide me with some useful aids.
I have a lovely view of the South Circular Road at one end and Charlton Football ground at the other.
It's true as soon as you add furniture the room shrinks in size.

Thanks I've bought some electricity on the way back to Staycity Deptford Bridge. Just have to ring up the water company on Monday and the housing benefits to change the rent,  Council tax for a single male,  apply for PIP again and see if I can get my medication as my regular chemist has run out and it's on order.

Well I am now in my flat,  waiting for the heating to come on. Got a duvet and a single fitted sheet for my bed.
Toilet bush and a mirror for the bathroom. Just need to get a kettle and toaster, might dash out and get one before the shops close.
