German steam tank

This is my first WHIF so it might be a little rough. It is a German steam tank which is a 1/48 Pazerkampfwagen chassis fitted with a 1/87 boiler but it is going to be 1/48 scale. Here is a mock up of it.

       

Here is the backstory of it. The germans were needing something to clear a way for their troop carriers and some of the tanks.But they have no diesel engines but they had a steam engine which could be used.The steam cylinder will be on the inside of the tank so it will be protected. There will be a blade fitted onto the front of it to clear the path. There will be HVAR rockets on the top of the cab.It will also have a trailer which will carry fuel and a 20mm flak 38 AA gun on it.

Are you familiar with the Shay-type gear-driven locomotives?
They used multi-cylinder 'motors' to drive the wheels via
a gear-train rather than links and cranks.

A Shay type drive-train would be a good choice for your rig.

Looks very close to what I have planned later in the year when my wallet is recovered from xmas minus the train part lol , I'd love to brag about what I'm going to make next but don't want any bugger stealing my idea lol , so if you see something similar from me it was my idea first rooly ner ner ner

The first is better for route-clearing and mine removal.  The second is better for earth moving.  Depends upon what you want it to do with the blades.
