Not a whif in this website's sense, but I love the subversive idea behind it!

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but I just found the following tonight:

P1000 Ratte Landkreuzer

Somebody is actually making one in 1/35 scale.    I'll admit, I also had plans for a 1/35 scale Ratte for the future. But mine would've been a long way off. For now, I'll be watching the thread and taking notes. Damn interesting for sure.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Actually Takom have announced the Ratte the more sensible in 1/144 scale - I had a whiffgasm when I saw it. More details at
http://www.themodellingnews.com/2015/01/takom-have-let-loose-tiny-ratte-maus-in.html#more For $62 odd US I want one especially as it has a Maus to accompany it.

"Whiffgasm" ;D. That needs to go viral and someone contact Collins Dictionary.

I cannot believe that tank was ever conceived. Didn't anyone think "well we have battleships and THEY got sunk". Whiff-up....a super-gun carrying mega-anti-armor aircraft for dealing with it. Boeing AB-29 anyone?

zenrat

Wouldn't you just drop a Tallboy or Grand Slam on it?  Its a big enough target.

Or just flood the ground. I'd love to see this thing fail on anything than solid ground, or trying to climb just a minor slope...

Over here in Yank Land I think it would be stuck to the Interstate highways, one track set in the southbound lanes, one in the northbound lanes.

Basically, yes.  After the war, the Tallboy was the RAF's main weapon against capital ships, they even experimented with a TV guide version.
