This morning my Facebook feed brought up a memory of the Model Engineering show at Ally Pally 7 years ago. I saw a 1/72 HMS Ark Royal with Phantoms and Buccs and spinning radars. It was massive!

Not a whiff as such - in service, yes - but an excellent WIP thread from AdrianMF on Britmodeller, converting ye olde Frog Tempest V into the Tempest I prototype with just some old fashioned modelling skill.  And not a drop of resin in sight.

Speaking of 1/72 ships - does anyone recall the scratch built 72nd Titanic bow section wreck at Telford back in 2000?  Fantastic model.

PZL.42 was a Polish experimental aircraft based on the PZL.23 Karaś. Only one was built, and used to test new design solutions.
As for the kits used: Body- PLZ 42; IBG 1/72 Floats- Aichi M6A1; Tamiya 1/72 Propeller- PZL 37; Plastyk 1/72 Also- Yahu Instrument panel; rear gunner's position- scratchbuild.
Painted in light grey green; similar to the one used in Polish seaplanes, like Lublin R.XIII/Hydro.
