Not wanting to steal Nils thunder, here is my attempt at a RAN FAA Buccaneer.  The backstory and artwork I did last year, but build was only commenced prior to Oz day this year.

First purchased in 1963, the Blackburn Buccaneer has served the RAN FAA for almost 20 years, providing the RAN, and Australia, with a formidable offshore strike platform.  Initially 56 aircraft were purchased to equipped 826, 831 + 850 Sqn, each with 12 aircraft each, and 6 in 724 Sqn for training.  They were given the designation S.2(AS)F.   After some initial teething problems  they soon embarked aboard the recently modified/overhauled RAN Essex (Australia) Class CV's, HMAS's Australia CV22, Canberra CV23 + Adelaide CV24.  All three ships would go on to complete three 6 month tours during the Vietnam conflict, commencing in 1966.  Initially they maintained Dixie station, in order to support Australian forces operating in the south.  After some political pressure from the US Govt, they commenced operating from Yankee station in May 1968, on the proviso that a US carrier be maintained on Dixie station in the absence of the Australian one.  The 'Buccs' proved their worth in strikes in North Vietnam.  11 were lost during the Vietnam War, but only 4 were due to enemy action.  The RAN Buccaneers did not see action again until 1977-78 during the Timor crisis.  They were very potent with their newly acquired AGM-84.  By this time, there were only 38 Buccaneers remaining, with Sqn's now only equipped with 8 aircraft afloat at any one time.  With the withdrawal of the RN fleet of S.2B, 22 surplus Buccaneers were purchased from the UK and bought up to RAN specs.  This bough the Sqn afloat allocation up to 10.

But did you ever finish it? Enquiring minds here need to know.........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

iv been getting a bit of paint bleed recently too for some reason  :banghead:

apparantly if you put the tape down then brush a bit of future (i suppose some clearcote would work too) along the edge of the tape.
when its dried it seals the edge of the tape so no chance of bleedthrough.
iv not tried it yet but it makes sense

That's what I do, and yes it works. You only need the merest hint of Future/Klear. If you get a ridge a quick polish with very high grade emery will remove
