Now how about that that non-autogyro Rotodyne.....(which is a long-standing, copyrighted idea of mine!)
;D ;D

OK, so what's one them then??? Another twin Dart turbo-prop feeder-liner?

Essentially yes, but more like a competitor to the DHC Caribou, Buffalo or HS Andover given the rear loading capability.  Twin fins retained, rotor and pylon gone, wing span increased.   ;D ;D

I fear there could be a copyright battle in the offing, here.

Now that's an idea, using Darts to power a Connie. Thanks

You'd need a lot of them!

The L-149G Super Connie had 4 x Wright TurboCompounds at 3250 hp each and a Dart only puts out around 1800 hp. Using 4 x Tynes might be a better job and they'd give you a 50% power increase as well, the later versions having around 6000 hp each.

I've got four Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprop engines from two Revell Breguet Br.1150 Atlantic ASW kits. I could use those.

The T-34 tubro-prop, the engine used in the R7V-2 variant of the Connie, and the Tyne were of the same vintage and power, both being launched in the mid 50s with around 6000 hp each. But the Tyne out-sold the T-34 by quite a margin, as it was a standard egine for the Vanguard, Transall C-160 and the Breguet Atlantique, all built in some numbers. The T-34 was only used on one major type, the C-133 Cargomaster.

The big plus for using the Tyne is that it's available in model form, whereas the T-34 isn't, certainly not in injected styrene anyway.

Actually the piccie you show there is the USAF variant, the YC-121F, the R7V-2 was the US Navy's version, but only two of each were ever built.

There are a couple of vacuforms in 1/72 of the C-133, the one I have is a Classic Airlines Logos one, the other kit is a Combat Models one.  Back when I bought my kit from Gene Hooker (and as far as I know you can still get them from him) I also bought the resin detail set from Combat Models.  Here's a pic of the engine, the air intake BTW, is on the top of the nacelle

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Thanks,
I'll build this from my Airfix Super G kit. The decals will be sourced from my Revell C-69 MATS.

I imagine that the main spar goes through the bottom of the fuselage, so you might want to think in terms of two weapons bays, one ahead of the wing and one aft.
