The next PTP I am writing, on Harrier Projects, is about 50% written.

It will feature some things already known about, but tell their full story, such as:

as well as revealing wholly new stories, such as the full saga of the Harrier III, the proposed Sea Harrier FRS.3 and some weird and wonderful variants, including the W-wing Harrier and the 'civil' Harrier:

Some more ideas can be found at http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,184.0.html &  http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=6369.0

As with my P.1216 book, it will be based on interviews, archival research and many years of Harrier obsession, all illustrated with original artwork, model pictures and diagrams.

Thoughts welcome on what folk would like to see - there's masses of stuff and whittling it down to 48 pages involves hard decisions!

Sounds VERY interesting, as usual with your works.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Want!  Look forward to seeing this.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Sorted the images out for you Mike

Yeap certainly another one to look forward to, the SHAR FA3 sounds interesting, although has Chris done a drawing of that in BSP:IV ?

One i would like to see is the AV-16 story, the Original SHAR/Harrier II as wondered if we could have had a the SHAR with a larger wing and larger engine bay so it wouldn't have been hamstrung with the original smaller harrier fuselage.

BTW would the 1179 series count or would you class them more as 1154 based projects for a possible later volume ?

Cheers

Geoff,

Thanks for sorting the images.

BSP IV has a small picture of one Sea Harrier 3, but there were several attempts at it.

The AV-16 story will feature, although I want to separate  out 'pure' US versions from ones the UK looked at. It's a very complex story!

The 1179 studies were covered by Tony Buttler in his BSP - there's not much to add as no detail design work was done on them and only one model was built. I intend looking at only Harrier derived projects, although a few other P. numbers will get a look in, like the P.12131 supersonic Sea Harrier.

Will the P.1216 feature?  It gets a snippet in BSP Bombers & has always intrigued me.

It's got a complete book of its own though........

Sorry, P.1226.  The stretched forward swept bat-wing variant with dove tail and squared off intakes.  Whew, quite a mouthfull that.

It'll get a mention, as will an even funkier W-wing version!
