looking good, I did something similar-ish a few years back  http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,8938.0.html

Nice job on that whif!!  I saw the Piasecki X-49A Speedhawk while researching this project.  Its super cool and could end up on the Stubbyhawk.  It would look cool on an Apache too!  Ah, more projects......

Just a little update.  I've been working on sponsons for the main gear.  Front is epoxie putty and the back is long lost aircraft parts.  PSR  A little Bondo to make it smooth.

Sanded and filed to shape with a little paint to see if it looks right.  Not too bad.

Plus some gathering some bits for later.

I can't promise much progress in April, crunch time for the semester.

Clearly taking your time will make it more than worth it..Great Stuff

One advantage is I get to think the project through as I go.  Just like I've got a great idea for the main rotors and no time to work on it.
Everyone will just have to wait and see.  I can't give it all away ahead of time.

roger copy on that. all the a-10 wingspace and the large fuselage and a projected high speed offers many possibilities.

If I could just finish the interior!!!!

Finished the floor and ceiling inside the cabin. She's all closed up with wings attached.  I'll have pics tomorrow after the gear dries and I can stand her up on her legs!  Now comes the fun part.....greblizing the outside!!

OK, "greeblizing"/"greeblising"/"greebling"/"greeblying" is the process of putting "greeblies"(pl.) [greebly(sing.)] onto a model to add visually appealing detail.

The process is best known in Science Fiction circles but the cross-over group into WhIffery has spread the term somewhat.

The greeblies don't actually need to have any purpose or function..... but it adds to the fun if you can add some explanation for their existence, be it spurious, pseudo-scientific or completely logical.

Here's some pics as promised.

Looks better up on some gear.  Still lots to do both inside and out.  I have to figure out what to do to fill in the area at the base of the tail.  I'll think of something.
Here's the donor of the Hellfire missles and 30 mm gun.

Wow, great stuff. w/ that gear she looks like long range, heavy internal & external load from unimproved strips.

Stubby is on the list, don't worry!
She will have a full load of reach out and touch some one.
