Roger copy, Mavericks are so plentiful and always upgraded that they will likely still be around in 2060 anyway.  Spherical Gimbals have abiding attributes over conformals also.

Well I know where I will mount the gun so I will do that and then try some options.  I bought some gold plated beads at Hobby Lobby for IR sensor like the new Typhoons and Sukois so that may work.

Good deal..
Typhoons and Suks must be refering to their IR search & Track (IRST) ball?

Exactly,  I have a whole package of these beads so you all will see more of them.
If I wiff any fighters they will all have IRSTs.

I really, really like what I see! Makes me wonder why a military production S-72 never went ahead.

Great work!

The S-72 was a strictly experimental machine designed to test different rotor systems.  The Sikorski S-61 was a fast machine with functional wings.  It was fast and could carry a few troops.  The Army wanted the nap of the earth, pop up from behind cover, shoot and scoot tactics so the choice was the Apache.  It didn't have to be super fast, just manuverable.  The Super Blackhawk will be a little more Soviet style.  They used Hinds almost like fixed wing aircraft, even dropping conventional bombs along with strafing and rocket passes.  The S-72 is certainly a cool looking machine which got my attention!  Makes you wonder what some extra development might have shown.

I think it looks like across between a Hind and Airwolf from the TV show.
And I LIKE it. A lot!

Thanks  Wait until you see the idea I have for the rotors.  It will be different.

cool anything but conventional.

might consider 2x IRSTs one for the top (air-to-air), at least one for the bottom for (air-to-ground), two if steroscopic.

I just don't want to look like a spider with eight eyes. :o ;D
I have the gun in place.  Not bad.

Got it..Gold is a great conductor and adds luster.

PS: but am not saying the gun should be gold.

Nice weekend to get something accomplished.  Put together all the weapons, including extra pylons from the snap tight A-10 kit.  This has worked out better than expected.  The detail is good for this project and I have extra pylons to load different weapons on.  I can snap them in to see if everthing fits then remove them for painting.

Added some antennas and such.

The business end.

I'll have to figure out a paint scheme soon.  Two tone A-10 grey, three tone Marine grey or something completely different.

Oh, I don't want to upset that little puppy  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
