In various stages of completion, I have a Colonial Viper Mk VII in 1/32nd, an Airfix TSR-2 in 1/48th, another TSR-2 (the Airfix anime version) in 1/72nd, and a Buccaneer in 1/72nd. The last is still-born, given the poor fit on the wing/fuselage seam.

I rarely have more than one at a time...I usually build manically and finish a kit in a week-10 days maximum.  My current MPA Dash 8 is a bit more involved with detailing so I will likely start an easy build kit for a break between sessions, but 2-3 at a time is a rarity for me.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

beowulf

at the moment, two........which is rare as i can normally only cope with one due to room/concentration/enthusiasm

neither are whiffs. 1x 1/48 Avia biplane, 1x 1/24 Porsche 911
.............hes a very naughty boy!
allergic to aircraft in grey!
The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time........Bertrand Russell
I have come up with a plan so cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel. ......Edmund Blackadder

Normally I have between 2 and 5 on the go, at the moment 2 are active (Revell 1/72 Typhoon and Trumpeter 1/72 Ultra Sabre)
Oh and about 30 D.N.F.
Although everything is inactive now due to a lack of modelling facilities! I'm Banned from the kitchen table and Dining room table,
and my former Modelling room with desk has been requisitioned as an Office/guest bedroom :banghead:
So I am currently fitting out the space above the  double garage as a Trainset/Modelling Den
which I hope to finish by the end of the month.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

 For me its a sliding scale, usually one or two but up to five or more at times ( especially if you include the naughty box, a 1:48 A-10 , 1:48 Dauntless are in long term residence at the moment)
It depends on the complexity/ease of build and painting.
At the moment Im just tweaking and finishing two Wifs.
I have a 1:72 P-3 Orion,an A-7B and A-7E plus a quick build Airfix Kingfisher,(all "real world") and I suppose I have to include a reissued AMT "Hot rod" kit, from which Ive painted an engine block and given the box contents two coats of looking at.

Sad I know,I really must get my act together..................maybe tomorrow

Gloss or matt ?  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Radish

Far too many...

the 1/72nd RAF EC-121 is stalled....but it's primed ready for final painting.....has been for 3 years though :-\
A number are begun but back in their boxes at the moment.
A host of Biggles stuff is imminent, including 2 civilianised Lysanders.
On the bench at the moment due for imminent completion, hopefully by Sunday (although final painting could take place at the show):

1/48th MiG-21 TEL twin-engined steampunk variant (from an AA Jian F-8D)
1/35th Panther hull supporting a ramp-launched Star Wars Starfighter....for "Afrika Reich".
1/35th Nazi Steampunk Crocodile with handler.
1/72nd Pug locomotive/Achilles tank hull with British troops......you know they're British because of the red jackets, black trousers and white helmets.

Also, there's a distinctly odd retro-F4U-4 with open cockpit, gattling wing guns, bombs galore, underwing rockets, new "steampunk" engine,  exhausts to die for and in "flying" mode, from the Beer Wars. :o

Plus others too.....

On rare occasions I will have two on the workbench simultaneously, but basically I am a one-at-a-time guy. I think that allows me to concentrate my energies and watch one project develop to its conclusion. My whifs tend to be complicated, in that there is usually a LOT of cutting, kit-bashing, and PSR on any ONE project, so I don't go "stale" for lack of involvement.

That is not to say that in the meantime I don't formulate, gather parts, dry-fit, research, and maybe even make cuts for some other models in the "pipeline", but those models stay in their boxes in the garage stash and not on the workbench.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

The 1/35th Panzer Panther/Star Wars Starfighter "combo" is slightly delayed as I keep thinking of stuff to add

Today I primed : the 1/72nd Pug Locomotive/Achilles tank combo plus base
: the 1/32nd VW Touareg (Afrika Reich) plus base
                     : the 1/48th MiG-21TEL
: the base for the 1/35th Nazi Crocodile (Steampunk)

I'll be working (painting, glueing) on them all at Hinckley tomorrow.
Decalling later.

Very good point. Most of mine are simple repaints for different operators which can get a bit "samey" plus you end up waiting for the proverbial "paint to dry"

Steel Penguin

with real kits, no more than a couple normaly, lack of space precludes anything more, with wargames figs several to lots, as they realy dont take a lot of space ( the most ive done at one time was 60-100 28mm world war 2 russians, which were block painted inked and  da daaa. done)
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront
Not a member of the Hufflepuff conspiracy!

Radish

Finished the Pug locomotive/Achilles tank combo today, as well as the steampunk crocodile (except for two German crosses)
Rock and roll.......
