So when do we get to see it ?  ;)

The What-If Model Builders on Facebook  Groups

Cheers mate

Geoff

So I have backdated a Stryker a few decades and done it as an SS Nordland APC in Isfahan Persia. (Of course you use artic troops in t'desert lad). On FB if you want to see it.

Knocked up an E025 to go along with it, and started a E-75 "Standardpanzer"

Got some interesting ships on the way as well

Geoff

Well the E-75 is OOB with an IR searchlight off a T-62 and smoke grenade launchers.

Making a Mig-21FL - started as a Wif but is now a real life IAF plane from the Indo-Pak war of '71.

Trying to figure out how to give Rhodesia and Zimbabwe A-4s. Ex IDF/AF is sort of obvious, but how can I get to an A-4L (A-4C with a hump)? Or more of a Wif an A-4B with a hump and no IFR probe???????

Not sure where they'd come from (maybe via a deliberately complicated arms deal, where they end up passing through numerous hands ?), but could come through S Africa or maybe Mozambique if Portugal hung on longer ?

I had got as far as A-4E/F's exIDF via SAAF operations. +/_ a complex deal involving a South American buyer selling EX USN, and USMC reserve A-4L's. Possibly transhipped via Argentina????? Best I can come up with, and I am open to offers.

Whats the story of the IIAF and Starfighters??

Nick

The challenge here is to persuade the Americans that backing Rhodesia is a good thing despite the British saying no. Might be part of the post-Suez split and some greater desire to push for anti-colonialism in Africa - may be a way to beat the Communist Bloc at their political game.

Or possibly avoid the UDI altogether and have Rhodesia adopt a pro-Western Black Majority rule by 1970. Part of the payoff for doing this is access to the US Military Assistance Program and lots of very cheap trucks, tanks and aircraft. Paying for it with Chrome that would otherwise have been bought by the USA from the USSR.

It was an article on IIAF F-14's but in the preamble they mentioned the F-4's and F-5's and almost as a throw away mentioned that previously the Shah had been offered various inducements by Lockheed to take some 104's but had declined their kind offer.

Cheers - yes I like the idea of having a more inclusive Rhodesia with at least representation for the majority - (you can hear the old duffers grumbling into their tea and tiffin). This would work as ZANLA and ZIPRA were backed by PRC and USSR. So ?renamed country Zimbabwe or Rhodesia-Zimbabwe - can I keep the Assegai roundels? Please pleaase?? Also if Smith gave majority rule/representation early you could see SA doing the same much earlier as well.

Hmm SAAF Rhinos

Edit Thinking about the markings how about Assagai roundel on fuselage and Zim bird on the fin. Their J-7II's had the Zim bird on one side of the fin and the flag on the other - just a thought

Just found a video on u tube about Rhodesia surviving It's a real change to realpolitik but has Portugal, Spain, South Africa and Greece remain dictatorships in the Allorca Alliance, backed by US as partners in anti-communist wars. Plus major changes in immigration in african colonies Namibia and some South American states. Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Honduras and Spanish Cuba (after the Spanish retake the island). Along with a general change of attitude. The US still loses the Vietnam war but the catholic southern Vietnamese are offered sanctuary in some of the colonies and S America.

OOOOHHH Frantan, Golf bombs, and Punji stakes yeah yeah yeah - Brings a whole new meaning to "Charlie's in the wire!" at Westland Farm - sorry

Probably not impossible, but, highly improbable! Still a wif is a wif.
