I'm less than impressed.

Well raise the issue at the next AGM. You just have to put the question forward in writing.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on November 17, 2022, 06:40:29 AMWas it dealer's pressure that removed the almost traditional Kit Sale too?

It was mainly because Alfie Bass, the Kitswap organiser, has had serious health problems in recent years. I saw him at a show last year and he looked a shadow of his former self.

Covid and social distancing and a lack of volunteers doesn't help much either.
True,  Alfie has been hit hard health wise over the last few years.
The kitswap has gone purely due to the team running it deciding that enought was enougth and it was some one elses turn to give up their Telford time to run the Kit swap.

But guess what? No one could be arsed to come forward.

so thats it. Its history. For now.
I always hope for the best.

Not sure it's really an AGM issue, but even if it was someone would expect ME to run the Kit Swap just because I raised the issue.

My response would be a) I'm 80 years old and b) I've done my whack at 'official IPMS duties' as I was Branch Liaison Officer for a good many years and started and ran IPMS Trent at the same time'.

Well, my Su-16 is nearly done, I had to graft a bit of Mig-29 undercarriage to the Phantom.
Painting a 1/144 Po-2 - no I am not going to rig it!
Also got a Japanese Fw-190 nearly done
F-86E(M) next

Pragmatic, maybe? Or in my case, I can barely see something that size, anyway.

OK happy new year etc.

Well didn't do the Sabre. I got distracted by an Airfix Phantom FG-1 which I have done as one of the proposed single seater, US Army CAS aircraft in overall green and hi-viz markings (well it was a1964 proposal).
Also got another F-100C ready for painting. I was going to do it Greek, but I might go with T.O.-114 SEA scheme for another army bomb truck in 'Nam with "Army" titles on the nose.
I have painted my Fw-190 and am debating straight Japanese markings, or a slightly odd coloured Turkish plane.
Mind you I found out a few days ago that the Swiss evaluated the Canadair Sabre and I have one in the stash and quite a few Mirage decal (transfer) sheets - -  Hmmmm?

Going to let a batch of models go to the local charity shops - SWMBO has been very patient, but I cannot shift them as fast as I would like, and I need to do it while the mood is upon me.

Geoff

So the F-100 is in silver as I found an old decal (sorry transfer) for IDF/AF A-4's. Or possibly Belgian? So a bit confused as to what I am doing. Unfortunately a pretty normal state of affairs these days.  :banghead:

Go Belgian (as an F-100S which in Whifworld the French operate) apply the Mirage V camo scheme and your back story can do away with the Belgian Mirage V purchase.

The F-100s would then be replaced with F-16s.

Yeah I like that idea. This one is silver, and is a F-100C, but I have an F which I can put a Spey rear can on as a TF-100G in Mirage 5 scheme!!?
The F-16 being the F-16/79 of course!

Well I have done the F-100C as a Belgian F-100N which was a proposed simplified version for a NATO bomb truck if I have understood what I have read.
Next move is to decal the Sabre which is a proposed ex-Luftwaffe Portuguese F-86E(M) which they tried to get, but was blocked by the US as they were for use in the Ultramar war. So they got the Greek G-91R4s instead in real life.
The US Army F-4 needs decaling.

Geoff

Ended up decaling the US Army F- 4 and I am quite pleased with the outcome. Just need to sort out the canopy now.

Tried to start the Sabre and got bogged down - maybe next. Or maybe it goes on the shelf of doom while I do the Meteor 1 of the Tiger Force.
