The F-2-16C is starting to really take shape. The vast majority of PSR is done just thinking about what I can add under the wings before I start using the good old hairy stick. The aircraft really needs me to use an airbrush on it because of the soft edges. I am going to have to learn how to use that darn airbrush I have sitting gathering dust before I finish another Mitsubishi F-2 conversion I have in my build que.

Pictures tomorrow morning as I plan to do more work this evening on the kits I have on the go.

No pictures yet, I simply didn't get around to taking them. More progress though. The Gnat is assembled and filler applied around the wing and intakes where needed unfortunately, probably my fault as its a very tight fit I have found. I am just about to put the last couple of parts onto the other trainer that I am building then it will betting its first colour applied later today
The F-2-16C is about ready for its first colour to be applied as well and the Gnat will be in a one colour scheme. On the whole finishing all three is looking achievable for the Scottish Nationals, just don't know if I will have them finished on the Thursday or Friday.

Still no pictures as I am trying to get as much done as quickly as I can with hopefully no .... problems..... along the way. Already had one problem when Humbrol using paint numbers from the Academy instructions. Found out their numbers were wrong yesterday evening when I realised the the underside colour of my F-2-16C was a bit too dark. Academy specified Humbrol 126 as FS:36270 for the underside. I ended up using from a Hasegawa FS:36375 which equates to Xtracolour 136. Heck of a difference in shade of gray which means I am going to have to get up early a couple of days in a row to get coats of paint onto the model to catch up  :banghead:

The "French" trainer that I am making had its Gris Aluminium show streaks, I really must set up some kind of spray booth so I can use an airbrush, so that needed some extra attention as well.

Still hopeful that something will be finished in time for Perth

Yippeee second coat of paint on the undersides not the painting can take a proper step forward, I hope. Also added the last of the fins to the HARM missiles to arm the F-2-16C, all four of them. Also worked out how to get them painted without too much bother. Masking of the "French" trainer's underside and applying the first of the upper surface colours this evening.

Wonderful how much can actually get done staying up for an extra hour when that cat wakes you before the alarm goes off in the morning

Always been an early starter myself. Get much more done before 1:00pm. Love the light mornings

I work though and have to catch a bus just before 7am, going to have to do the same in the morning as the paint is needing two coats  :banghead:

Not good news. I am stopping work on My "French" trainer until after the Scottish Nationals as the paint doesn't want to work very well on it  :banghead:

The F-2-16C is progressing well although I am going to have to get a move on with painting the stores in the next couple of days.

The Gnat has stalled as well but there will defiantly be a new kit from me at the Scottish Nationals.......... even if it is the F-16-2A that was at Cosford.

Its just after 8am of the morning of the Scottish Nationals. Just put the last item onto the model. It was an oversight really, I was so focused on the stores that I forgot the ejector seat had to go into the darn thing  :banghead:
Good job I had decided to glue the canopy on with Gator's Grip!

Late night last night finishing off the decals and adding varnish and the like. Not happy with my Microscale Micro Flat as it went gloss
but at least I got some sleep even though it was 2:30am when I went to bed.

Pictures (without the ejector seat) will probably be uploaded tonight or maybe during the show as I am taking my lap top with me.

Tired but fairly satisfied

Its been a while since I posted in this thread and during that time I have managed to finish one of the builds. Time of course has moved on and so has what I am building. One of the kits previously pictured has stalled due to paint problems while the other, a gnat, has simply stalled. Progress has been renewed on an older build though. See here http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,33065.msg516142.html#msg516142 and I have started a Spinners inspired build as well. Pictures later possibly. Oh and I am getting parts for an interesting USAF aircraft  ;D

Thought I would update my Blog only to find it had been moved to the Current and Finished Projects folder. True I don't post a lot about what goes on in my life as it's private, but this time I was going to do so.

No modelling done for months, sort of coincided with my working permanent nights. Well not any more. I had started to get stressed from a combination of issues to do with my work and last night as I started off on the forty odd minute journey I realised that I was suffering from stress and that the only sensible thing I could do which would solve the problem, after mulling all the possibilities around in my head, was to quit my job. So a change of direction on the motorway and I was at my girlfriends. Lots of hugs and sympathy later and a strong cup of tea I made the call to the acting supervisor.
This morning I have been to the Dr's and I am the owner of a sick line for two weeks, the company I got the job through have also been informed and I have asked them for contact details for their other offices to see if they have any work for me that is closer to home and days only. Still forward thinking, I popped into Triage, a company doing what the Job Centres used to do, help people find a job, where I talked to a couple of the staff I got to know quite well. In fact it's possible that I will have a job interview tomorrow!
Not all doom and gloom and maybe, just maybe I will do something with some plastic in the future.

Your Blog is still in the Blogs section mate.

As for the stress than as someone who damaged his health by trying to press on through it all I can say is that you have made exactly the right decision. Well done

Chris

PS - Would you like me to merge this thread with your Blog ?

Well now I have rediscovered this thread I might as well use it.

So here are a few pictures

Firstly the box

Next the contents of the box

Blue Steel and the undercarriage

Fuselage, wings and tail surfaces

and finally to confirm what Thorvic said about the bomb bay doors being present for those who have not bought one of these impressive kits

Sorry about the glare on some of the pictures, I have still to take the parts out of their bags.
