Deringer? it doesn't sound very belligerent though does it?
Isn't there a Hebrew word for Bl**dy annoying little whiney Insect that bites?
Only Much shorter and to the point? ;D

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

VERY nice . For the second one, may I suggest an Israeli one, ground attack '73. The WHIF being the Israelis bought/license built Gnats instead of Mirage/Skyhawk...

I wonder what the Hebrew is for "Gnat"?  ;)

You mean these ?

So why didn't they?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Gondor

Finished putting the first of my Gnats together and found that you have to be very careful with the fitting of the insides of the air intakes and also the undercarriage bays or several other parts will not go together as nicely as expected.

Mmmm... I found that too!, I think I've managed to get one intake flush and one a little proud,
although I didn't have a problem with the U/C bay. The rest fits very well. Oh except for the Underwing
fuel tanks, their fit left something to be desired.

With luck someone will produce an after market set of tanks for the Gnat.

Do you mean the slipper tanks as supplied by Airfix? I just meant that they had some rather obvious joints
in them, and that I had to do a bit of sanding of said joints, not that they are in any way inaccurate (note I haven't measured
them against plans/the real things, they look good enough to me)

Or did you mean the Drop tanks as used by the Gnat F1/Ajeet and seen fitted to some early T1's?
For the drop tanks I would use the ubiquitous 100gal. Phenolic Asbestos type drop tank as used by the Hunter, Wessex  and (possibly) the early marks of leaping Heap.
As supplied in the RoG Hunter Kits-(you have got at least a couple in your stash? ;D)
they look close enough for government work/Whiff work to me

Yeah, I'm putting one together at the moment and I must admit it's a little fiddlier than I expected.  I'm having the same experience with the tanks, mucho PSR to get them right and the intakes on mine fit very proud, there's going to have to be a fair bit of persuasion to get them to fit.  I've found although some parts seem to need sanding to get them to fit, once you put poly on it softens the edges just enough to pop in for a very snug fit, seems to be a feature of several of Airfix's new kits.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

'56 was a bit of an eventful year.  There was a little bit of a problem with Middle Eastern affairs I seem to remember...

Israel wanted to build both single and two seat Gnats under license.

Does anyone on the forum know what version of single seater they were interested in?
Like, was it the F1 or a single seat T2?
