See if you can find the Su-9/11 Fishpot as those are bigger diameter than the the SU-7

Really? I thought the Su-9 was "just" an Su-7 with a delta wing, while the Su-11 is an Su-9 with a straight (rather than tapered) nose to accomodate a bigger radar.

As an aside, there were a Leoman Su-9 and Su-11 on a stall at Cosford which I ummed and arhhed about for a while.....

basically you're right.  The Leoman Su-11 is a little bit shorter than the VEB Su-7 but has a fuselage roughly the same diameter, at its widest.

I like this! Anything Lightning shaped gets my vote!! :o ;D.

In fact, since seeing this build, I've been giving serious thought to combining my KP 1/48 SU-7 fuselage with the cockpit ( interior/ejection seat) , spine, tail assembly & wings from an Airfix 1/48 Lightning F2!

It should be feasible to graft the Lightning belly tank on to the SU-7 as well! :-\
Hmmmmmmm!

If I saw this back in the day I failed to comment.

Why? I have no idea because it is a wonderfully realised concept & it looks brilliant!
