That looked  like one CRACKING show, well done you guys, I just wish I'd have been able to get there, even if I had starved to death throught not being able to eat or drink on the stand!

It seemed that RAF camo was 'The Order of the Day' and very well it looked too. LOVED the 'in service' FD2 with the tanks, do tell us more about that please.

And what's that about Dave's 'stalker' please?

Isn't 'Dougal' the Wooksta's AEW Lancaster that debuted at Cosford?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Where's "Dougal"?

Who or what is "Dougal" ?

D-Dougal is my AEW Lancaster that's currently in Martin's possession.

Unless I've gone blind Lee, it wasn't there

Unfortunately the box containing Dougal is currently buried under my stash in the spare room............................It was mission imposible to get to it with out causing untold damage to the rest of the contents of the room. It will have been excavated from its toom by this weekend, ready for its impending return to the north east.
I always hope for the best.

Hi all

For me yesterday was a very enjoyable day for for me. I finally met some of the faces (OGL, Narses2, Kitbasher, Nick and some other gentleman whose I am sorry to say I have forgotten, to him I tender my apologies) on this website.

Nick lead me into the Promised Land (the sales section!) where I was overwhelmed by the stunning selection of kits, book, magazines, decals, accessories and what-have-you.

Nick then guided me around showing me the sheer quantity of model clubs attending. Of course I added to my stash, well it would have been rude not to!

Although I did not buy any of the books on the sale as I couldn't see one that I wanted, oh well!

So I also did take some pictures of the stand, but I also saw a picture that would gladden Tophe's heart. I mean the Zwilling Hurricane on the Airfix stand.

The only regret that I have is that I started to run out of steam towards the end so I decided that going home before I caused alarm and despondency by collapsing, I was very tired but very pleased to have attended.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.

Regards

Kerrill
If I am targetted by JMNs, I'm in good Company.

No, no, no! You do not die for your country, you make the other one die!

Lovely photo's Chris - you've made every subject look a competition winner.

My own pictures of the 'Spread':

Many other 'straight' stands had a whif or two on them, this was the most eye catching to me:

Appreciate the photo coverage for those of us not able to attend. Same for the folks who went to Texas.

Lets hear your best stories of JMN encounters. Any confirmed kills?

In terms of "punter" interest. This years Hendon show was up there with the best of em. The stand was busy the whole time with people looking, asking questions or just generally chewing the fat about modelling. The biggest draw by far was one of the oldest items on the stand. That was the Vulcan display team. Our location also helped. For the third year running we were alongside the Queens flight Wessex. It is proving to be a prime location. And I will keep asking for the same spot.
I always hope for the best.

the VDT is eye catching in the photo, in the plastic it must be staggering!
the stand is certainly an eye catching mix as well, lots of different colours, shapes, and styles.  Which id imagine helps draw the punters.. look differant to most as its not a single "thing"
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront
