Kit- The 'in service' FD2 was one of mine. It was built a few years ago, but this is the first time it's been displayed, the idea behind it was it was employed as a high altitude, high speed recce aircraft, hence the overall PRU Blue scheme.

It was a great show and I think the best compliment we got was from one punter was that as he put it ours was the best display in the show because of the effort in the way the stand was laid out and in the imagination and build quality of the models on display. I thought that was a hell of an accolade for the SIG as a whole.

Here are some more photos, this time the aircraft  around the main part of the museum.

Brilliant work there then, and right up my street too!  ;D

I hope to see it in the plastic one day.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The local Air Cadet commander had a good look at the stand and particularly liked the Local Hawk...

Twas a good day out, didn't feel like I was there for all of 8 hours! Kerrillc turned up too for his first ever model show and I hope he'll join us for many more.

Mine/Phils Local Hawk has truely became global!  Glad to hear that its still a hit!

Lets hear your best stories of JMN encounters. Any confirmed kills?

Not confirmed although I'm pretty sure one guy thought Martin's BOAC Boeing Clipper was real.

It wasn't a JMN day really. As said above there was a lot of genuine interest and hopefully a few more budding wiffers

Yup it's a stunning model and after looking at it for a couple of hours I had to go and check the real one round the corner from us for a little detail I've missed on every Beau I've built and guess what ? Dave's right  ;D

The Wooksta!

For years, there was a guy convinced that the FAA had flown Vought Flapjacks.  Mine looked so convincing it had him well and truly fooled.
