Sprayed my ray gun earlier, but not too happy. Giving it a good rub down and repsraying tomorrow. I've test fitted it to my holster to enable a quick draw.

Resprayed the ray gun,....but still not totally happy. A little more rubbing down and I lightly respayed once more. I'll check tomorrow, but unless it's bloody dreadful, it'll remain "as is" and any tiny blemishes will receive a decal.

Should finish drilling, screwing, glueing and spraying the helmets tomorrow. 2 of them in black; the red one (mine) I'll spray on Wednesday......

Off to see Priscilla tomorrow night. ;)

"Priscilla: Queen of the Desert" was wonderful, and Jason Donovan etc., were great. Seeing it again in Nottingham and Stoke.
2 Black helmets sprayed.....concentrating on the "commission" first with an earth wash, various other washes, decals, etc.. Some detail painting, additions of nuts (hexagonal ones!!), beads and possibly, tattoos.

Ooooooh.

Saw it when it was in the West End, and I have to admit it was very, very good. I was pleasantly suprised at how good Mr Donovan was

Jason Donovan was the first Frank n'Furter we saw live in Rocky Horror....excellent and still one of the best. The current Frank is played by Oliver Thornton who previously starred in Priscilla....he's really excellent and brings his own wicked interpretation to the role. Bostin'

Bought some stick on diamonds  ;D ;D for a bit of glam for these military "Eddie" helmets.

ALL social life on Friday, Saturday and Sunday ON HOLD due to snow, ice, occasional blizzards, etc...

So I've finished one helmet (minus a couple of decals) and nearly finished another.
My helmet (no rude remarks, please!!) will get a covering of a patchy red wash later having been primed with red primer. The large spider fixed on top will be a mixture of copper and brass shades.

;D :o

Glad I didn't attempt yesterday's journey....on the A444 there were numerous cars, jack-knifed lorries littered around. Cars sliding sideways....

Looking very bright but distinctly wintery here.....better be OK for Saturday......I have serious FLESH to press in Manchester!!

Epic fail on the rock and roll as I felt like crap.
Worked on the helmets and had an early night.....ie 11.30pm instead of 1am.

I'll finish the helmets and ray gun today/tonight.

OMG.  The Grapes in Stafford.  Got drunk in there on many occasions as a student!

What is now the 'Couture' nightclub (just checked it out on Google Street View) is on the site of a night club called 'Cinderella Rockerfellers' at the time but we just used to call it the 'Top of the Grot'.  Don't know where the name came from - we didn't invent it, just adopted the use from senior students.

Suzi Quattro at the Rag Week Ball was hilarious.  'Do y'all wanna go down Devil Gate Drive?', she shouted at the top of her voice about 6 times and basically we all shrugged our shoulders and mumbled 'well not really, too much effort' and had more beer!  Happy days.

Derek Holt, ex-landlord of the Grapes (and ex-Climax Blues Band) leads the evening's entertainment on Sunday nights with a host of guests, and Bank Holiday nights are usually good. Not as populated as it used to be....often rammed a few years ago, but still a good crowd. Often left there after a good night about 3am.
