Welcome 2016....a bit late I know.
Been building and working through various Star Wars "Easy Build" kits....the little "tiny" ones that snap together nicely and are ripe for daftness.
PLUS....some of the larger easy-build kits, particularly the "Clone Wars" Starfighter, that's around 1/50th-ish, and is a sharp triangular shape, rear bubble canopy and around 8" long. I have "a few" all bought at half or lower prices. Two have been built so far and primed. The only mods are omitting the R2D2 unit and covering the resultant hole.
Each build will have its own scenario......the only scenario to cover them all was a future "Air Circus" using aircraft painted in retro-schemes. But that's a bit boring. So I've gone, initially, for my 2 builds:

1. Messerschmitt 863B of the Finnish Air Force, with full "retro" WW2 Finish colours and markings....and story, I need the story....
2. North American P-197 of the USAAF 8th AF, 20th FG in full WW2 retro-scheme.

Others will be RAF, French, etc.....

2016 obviously starts when the Mighty Radish has decreed it so. His excellency   will no doubt vouchsafe to us other important calendar dates as he sees fit.

WW2 drags on for a very long time!

Originally thought I'd go for Luftwaffe stuff....but then considered that everyone does German thingies, so here we go with a pile of Arkwright-Robinson "Star Darts".
All will be in Allied colours....

RAF, Rhodesian, Belgian, Czech, USAF, etc.

Might do a captured German one with yellow undersurfaces.
First public show at Hinckley, then more to appear at Cosford, etc....

ANOTHER model finished, and on a base.
Both finished models are 1/48th Arkwright-Robinson "Star Darts"..... :drink:

Two 1/48th X-wing fighters to be primed tomorrow.
One will the USAAF, the other RAF. :drink:

Re-think on the X-Wing Fighters.
They will have a political theme so I'm not saying.

2016 wasn't the best.....lost my way...
Hardly appeared at shows, club meeting for my local branch....not much enthusiasm....
2017 is different.....already.
Doing quite well with the "FINISH ONE MODEL A WEEK THROUGH 2017 CHALLENGE."
I write "finish", because they're things I began "a while ago."
So far in 2017...4 items that appeared on the Stafford stand at Huddersfield...that's January...the C-47  Hippie "Magic Bus" required lots of butchery, sanding down, and creation of a base.
Done lots of printing and laminating for the various modelling interests of BIGGLES, GOTH and HIPPIE, etc...
The next 10 days will include completion of,
1/72nd: Air Police Yellow Hurricane IIc, RAF Tomahawk PR.II, 2 x RAF Wildcat/Martlets, RAF Spitfire VB
1/48th: RAF Mustang PR.III, RAF Hurricane I, Irish Air Corps Bf-109G, ...
Should finish the construction of the Lindberg 1/48 Douglas X-3 Stiletto I began on Monday. It's a scaleorama project.
Lots more just to complete, not least several RAF Tucano fighters, a1/48th Camel, a Sidewinder-equipped Spitfire 22 up-engine and an Elephant with Hippie Ears.....and butterflies.
It helps now being retired as I'm often out at least 4 nights a week for a quiz and more importantly....MUSIC.
Feeling enthused.....

And the half sized Rabbit, resin, repainted, with flower and butterfly....

Peace brothers....

Delighted  to hear that 2017 is turning out to be good so far for you.  I look forward with bated breath (and a certain qualm of trepidation) to your regular enthusiastic (and totally unique) contributions to this space. I too have a Lindberg Stiletto to be scalorama'd......I'm fascinated to see your take on it........lacy net curtains at the windows?.......a pith helmeted skull for a pilot?........Mongoose world insignia?     And painted in Halcyon Blue and Regal Crimson with silver  lining?
