Would they be camouflaged by injecting chemicals into their skins? Would that work for humans too?

There was a cartoon in one of the papers at the time which had a couple of Argentine sentries huddled up against the snow and wind with one saying "I'm sure we're being watched ?" and next door to them was a group of penguins, one of which was wearing SBS shoulder patches  . Cartoon was very much in the Giles style and I think I have it in an anthology of newspaper cartoons of the time that was published by the Express Group I think ?
