Yup  from £1 store. I use them a lot for bases

No real progress at all, far to many seasonal things going on   Hopefully get started up again after Christmas, I know what I want to do and that's half the battle  Mind you I think I'm getting some plastic next week, so plans might change

Starting to wonder!   ;D I know what you mean, though. This time of year it's less a matter of having time to do stuff like hobbies and more of having to take(steal) the time.

Looking forward to the ideas.

Huh, my modelling is going on a couple of weeks' vacation very soon, as my modelling space is the dining table & we're doing Christmas lunch (I'm working pm shift) for some of the family & hangers-on. :-\

Maybe only a week, if I'm lucky & can sneak some stuff onto the table before New Years Eve. ;)

Well surprisingly I got some modelling done over the last couple of days. The P-47 now has had its main paintwork completed - Olive Drab over Neutral Grey, so nothing complicated - and now just needs some tidying up of the demarcation line and under the wings and tailplanes where some of the OD has ended up. I know it wouldn't if I masked the undersides, but I'm lazy  :-X So now she can start having her transfers added, but that will be post Crimbo.

Working on this over the last couple of days has made me realise that I am just going to have to accept the detrimental effect my current eye problems (3 separate conditions  :o) are having on my modelling. It's been exasperated by the light conditions in my model room at this time of year for sure but it's mainly the conditions themselves. It's not spoiling my enjoyment or indeed my ability to actually build the model but it does mean that my accuracy is not as high as before (was it ever ?) and I have to double check that paint coverage is complete. This latter problem caught me out with the Thunderbolt.

Have a couple of appointments with various specialists in January so we'll see what they have to say. That and I'll invest in some decent day light bulbs.

All the best wishes of the season to you Gents and may there be some styrene under your tree. By the size and weight of a parcel I've been given I think there's some under mine - fingers crossed  ;D

Hope things get better for you - not a fun thing.

Good though, that you're still happy in your hobby; a positive mindset can be a great help.

All the best for Christmas and the New Year.

Here's to 2017 Chris.  May it be a good one and may any issues turn out to be remarkably easilly sorted.

Major transfers are on the P-47. They came from one of the DP Caspar "Campaigns" sheets and whilst great value some of the larger ones can break if left in the water to long, only a few seconds. Not a great problem as the only tend to split into two parts which as they stay "slidable" for ages are quite easy to maneuver back into a single piece.

The couple of transfers I used from the Tamiya sheet on the other hand are as tough as old boots but take an age to separate. Just the stencils to do and then we are on finals.

Well Happy New Year all

2016 was a bit of a "medical" year for me which somewhat impacted on my modelling. Not unduly but I didn't get as much done as I'd intended - do we ever ?  :banghead:

Hopefully 2017 will turn out to not involve quite so many trips down to the local hospitals  ;D and my rate of finished projects can be upped again. I want to get a couple of stalled projects completed a.s.a.p but then I also want to start on the first of my MB 5's. There are also a couple of real world builds that I want to do and we are only at the first day of the year

So at the end of the day I think I'll settle for reasonably successful year all round and leave it at that.
