That looks absolutely great  ;D

As for a comparison between this kit and the VERY old Airfix kit, this is what I did back in 2012

Another combination of grey and red! ;D

Oh to be whiffing again :-(

NARSES2

I like that

I had another one delivered today, or at least I picked it up. Going to have a bit more blue in it's scheme

Very little modelling done as it's way to warm in the model room. Still can't complain as it's nice to get out and about whilst the kids are still at school  ;)

Progress on my first RAF 100 GB model and I've also started to look at the parts of the second. I think I've managed to figure out top and bottom and port and starboard as far as some parts are concerned, but I'm not 100% certain  :-X

Got a bit caught up in the part of the Wif process that for some reason I find one of the most difficult. Thinking of a name for my next RAF 100 build  :banghead:

The aircraft I'm building only ever had a type number and only one example flew so I need a name for it. Can I think of a suitable one ? Can I heck ! I always have trouble with this. Every name I think of always sounds silly to me, whereas when other people come up with names they always sound right to me. How the heck do you do it ?

Anyway I think I'll go for the Vickers Viper ?

As an aside did the RAF have an official naming system or was it left up to the manufacturer to come up with a name which the Air Ministry/MOD/RAF had to agree to ? If they did have an official one I can't see the logic behind it  :banghead:

I think the RAF tended to have themes at various times, viz the WWII bombers tended to be named after towns or cities. But then they got sidetracked with the V bombers, even though the Canberra followed the city theme.

Some manufacturers had themes too, Hawker's winds of course, but others seemed to be random.

This being WHiffWorld you can make up your own theme, and alliteration is always a good start.

Progress is going o.k. with my GB entries, indeed so far it's going well enough that I may sneak a fourth in.

Been looking at a couple of contenders for my next non GB builds. I must finish my PZL 42, don't know why it stalled as it's a lovely kit. Probably real world intervened ? Then I think I'll do the new tool Airfix Mitchell out of the box, real world as I really like the "desert pink" scheme in the box. Mind you "apparantly" there are problems with this out of the box so it will be a semi whif anyway  ;D

Whilst looking for something else I found one of those "now why did I buy that ?" kits. An A+V Models full resin Miles M-39B Libellula.

The real thing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_M.39B_Libellula

VIP Transport ? Light ASW aircraft for MAC ships ?

Oh yes, delightfully weird.

Umpteen years ago I built a flying model of the Libellula, free flight, not radio, powered by twin Cox TeeDee 049s, and about 3 ft wing span. It looked great and flew like a well tuned manhole cover...........  :banghead:

So, you're saying it flew as well as the Miles M.35.  ;D ;D

Speaking of the M.35, Planet Models make resin kits of the wee beastie in 1/72nd and 1/48th.

The problem was getting both 049s running a the same speed, as otherwise it started to turn immediately after launch. The turn got tighter and tighter and the thing spun in on almost every flight.

Luckily I'd built it like a manhole cover too so it wasn't too badly damaged, but I can't recall a single good flight with it.

Mind you, this was in 1952 or '53.  ;D ;)

Making progress, but on a completely non modelling note during the World Cup I ended up with rather a lot of recorded t.v. shows. Anyway been catching up, there's not much else on, and over the last few nights I've been binge watching Gotham. I do like the whole look of it and the fact that it doesn't take it'self to seriously, but the crumpet just seems to get better and better   Should get up to date with it tonight and then I can make a start on Outlander
