Assuming the model's fuselage is split symmetrically then it should be filled and rescribed offset.
Which would be fun.

On my current 109 build I just sanded the seam smooth and then scribed down the middle.  On my previous 109 builds I did't bother with it.

I don't spend to much time with panel lines, work on the basis of "stand 72 feet away"  ;) I'm also useless at re-scribing and have come to accept it.

Another thing about 109s - the vertical panel lines are engraved when they should be raised as the real thing had overlapping panels that assisted airflow.

Looking at pics of 109s on the interweb and the only one where you can see any panel lines is one that has been stripped for painting.

Yup are was looking at some photos of the internals on the production line and my first thoughts were on how shiny the aluminium was. I'd expected it to be dull. Mind you I suppose it was an alloy rather than Al ?

No real progress. Eye's been giving me a little "gip". Mind you it's a physiological rather than "actual" thing and the specialist says my brain will eventually come around to the situation

The shininess, or not, has more to do with production methods and desired finish rather than alloy.
Highly polished rolls will give the brightest finish. I have various sheets of aluminum of various
thicknesses and alloys; two are the same alloy but different thicknesses, one bright, one dull.
I have a piece of 1/8th plate that has a brushed finish etc.

Lapped panels do create slightly less drag, but that's not why that method of fabrication is used,
it's used because it's quick, simple and strong.

Ah. So very similar to the various methods used to produced cold rolled sheet and strip then. That I'm more familiar (or was) with

Most of my current efforts are concentrated on my engines more or less GB entry, but some work has been done on the Breda and she's getting very near paint time. I've also resurrected the next kit from the shelf of doom : Airfix A.W. Whitley. This had stalled at the painting stage because I couldn't decide what to finish her as, I have now decided.

And on a completely different note I saw one of our local feral Parakeets this morning. We've a small colony in the woods next door but this is the first one I've seen this summer. Heard them but not seen any until now. Their numbers vary dependent on how bad our winters are.
