I've been getting a couple of Xmas things organised.

A sensible piece of forward planning!....and I'm delighted and relieved  to hear that you have not fallen prey to the current plague.

As to Radish's recent comment about Enola Gay being bright PINK, the Hereford Cowboys (SAS) still have a few pink Landrovers knocking about round here.  I'm told by  an officer's wife that they are Laura Ashley "dusty pink" colour, as are her lounge curtains and cushion covers.

There's probably a Regimental order that officer's wives curtains and cushion covers HAVE to be in that shade!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Managed to get some work done on all 3 current projects, not much, but it was progress. Also managed to sit down and do some serious reading for the first time in a few weeks so the "weariness" that seemed to have taken my body over seems to have passed. I think it actually came down to a state of mind in the end as the medical issue passed about a week ago.

Also got my appointment through for Moorfields in January yesterday and couple that with Palace just winning 1-5 away from home it's been a reasonable weekend   ;D

Well I've got my Mojo back and made progress on all 3 current projects

Progress on the 406 and Fokker are detailed in their respective threads, but I've also managed to start getting some paint down on the real world Raiden. Found some old jars of Tamiya Japanese colours and they seem (touching all the wood available) to be behaving much better than newer jars of their paints I have ?  I'll be using White Ensign Colourcoats for some shades though and they are beautiful paints, my favourite enamels I think.

I started the Raiden as a "relaxing" build to be getting on with while I was tackling the other "limited run" ones and I think that has been part of my motivation problem. Rather stupidly I was expecting a nice, easy state of the art Hasegawa build. What I forgot was that whilst it may have been state of the art when it was tooled, that was back in the 70's. Anyway I've realised how silly that was and have accepted it for what it is, a good kit, and it's going together well now.

So, onwards and upwards

Good stuff, Chris. The raiden is a lovely machine.

1977 according to my notes.  43 years ago... :o

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yup and for a 77 tooling it's a really good kit. The thing that annoys me about it slightly though is that the guns and pitot are moulded integrally with the upper wings. Now that's actually a quite clever piece of moulding, but I doubt t that pitot is going to survive

Progress is being made, which at the moment involves a lot of masking tape.

This sounds very similar to my present wrapping work  Progress is being made, which at the moment involves a lot of  tape.

Just as long as it's not red...  ;D

Progress on all projects, not spectacular, but at least it's progress

More detail in their specific threads, but the Raiden now has it's undersides painted and the first coat of IJN Green on its uppers. Only problem was that the Tamiya paint was so thin it was ridiculous and I'm convinced its creped under the masking tape in several places  :-\ Lots of touching up coming I feel.

Wish Hataka did Japanese WWII Navy and AF colours. They do Army colours, but no aircraft ones.
