I like the concept - a close relative of Malicious Compliance, I guess?

When I get a stroppy customer I keep smiling and finish with a cheery "Have a good afternoon".  My thinking is that if they are still in a bad mood when they leave then at least my cheerfulness will pi55 them off even more.  Of course only my colleague at the adjacent till can hear what I mutter under my breath.

Whilst working on the 109 I was thinking how nice it was of Willy to design it so that the real aircraft had a seam line running down the fuselage (obviously a closet modeller), but then I started to wonder just how visible that would in fact be from a scale 72 feet away (or 48/32/24 depending on the scale you work in) ?

Then I thought I was getting in to deep so went and made a mug of tea  ;)

The seam is actually slightly offset.  Which introduces yet another thing for an obsessed JMN to look out for.
ISTR the off set is infinitesimally small in 1/72.  We have discussed it on a previous 109 thread.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Magic, that means if you REALLY wanted to get the JMNs going you could offset it the WRONG way!  ;D ;D ;) ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Progress ? Yes  Indeed I'm at the point I reach with all my builds when it comes to Cleaning up seams etc. The point of diminishing returns. There always comes a point no matter what I'm building where to continue the cleaning up of a seam line will simply mean that I start to not enjoy the build and so it's better for me to accept a slight seam and enjoy the build as that's what I make models for : enjoyment. Interestingly this point of diminishing returns is nowhere near consistent and on some kits I will repeat psr until the cows come home quite happily whilst on others ??

I think I might be getting to deep again so I'd better go put the kettle on  ;)

Not modelling at all, but I sat in a coffee shop early this morning for a large cappuccino for the first time this year and probably since last September ? It felt so good, almost normal or whatever the "new normal" is going to be like

That DEFINITELY counts as making progress!!

Got painting started on both the 109 and Flitzer as well as a lot of masking removed from the Fokker. Very little touching up to do on the Fokker which is a result

Bit of a  :banghead: moment with the 109. I used Vallejo white for the theatre band and whilst I gave it a good Klear coat before painting the underside RLM 65 I've got some crazing where the 65 has covered the unmasked white.

Very odd, but it may be because the RLM 65 is the very last knockings from an Xtracrylic bottle ? Anyway I'll sand it smooth and then give it another coat, but from a newer bottle.

So a progress report :

The Fokker - I'm very nearly at the point which I've been putting off for ages, fitting the nose and tail glazing. I think it will go on ok, touching all the wood available, but I have this sneaking feeling .........

The Flitzer - Paintwork done, major transfers on, I now need to decide which of the stencils I'm going to use and then get them on. I won't be using all that Revell provide mainly because my fingers//eyes struggle but also because on smaller scale models I think to many just look wrong ? Personal point of view, but some jet aircraft, particularly Phantoms, can look completely overwhelmed by the amount of stencils they bear ? May be accurate, but just doesn't look right to me.

The 109 - Main paintwork done, hopefully transfers start going on tomorrow ?

I also gave my Airfix Beaufort a good wash and rinse in preparation for breaking plastic this week.

Next couple of weeks are going to be a bit busy as I'm going to be meeting up with a few friends I haven't seen since the start of this Covid business, so it'll be interesting to see how much people change in 18 months ? A lot of the guys will have beards and a lot of the girls longer hair is my betting, but we shall see.  ;D

Both the 109 and the Flitzer are finished  Plus I have made some progress with the Fokker.

I now need to decide what to build next ? My next 2 whiff builds will be my entries in the upcoming One Week and Recce GB's so I'll probably start my Airfix Beaufort to accompany the Fokker on the bench.

Hopefully photos of the 109 and Flitzer (both just repaints, although the later is a whif to start with) latter this week, although it's a busy one as I'm catching up with a few people I haven't seen in the flesh for probably a year or so due to Lockdowns etc.

Started work on The new tool Airfix Beaufort as a "time filler" until the One Week GB opens. She's looking good so far and will be a real world Malta based aircraft. Also continued work on the Fokker which is very, very slowly getting there, although she could well see her first birthday on the bench  ;)

Here's a pic of both the Flitzer and the 109 and the rest can be seen in the Current and Finished Models threads

Far too few Beauforts produced in the first batch. I'm still waiting for mine. :-\

Yes I was lucky in getting mine. I wonder if any got stuck in that ship impounded by the Egyptian authorities for bunging up the Suez Canal ?

Those, Chris, are a VERY fine pair of aircraft!!

Thank you sir.

Bit more work on the Beaufort. It's been very well designed with some innovative features and the fit so far has been immaculate. Only one slight issue and that was what appeared to be some slight damage on one wing trailing edge where it had been removed from the mould ? Very slight and took a minute or so to sort with some fine sanding pads and a little PPP.
