Chris;  May I support Pellson's comments on your situation, and wish you both well in your ongoing struggles with polystyrene

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Here's a couple of shots of the real world KP Seafire MK IB finished as an aircraft of 801 NAS, HMS Furious, Home Fleet, flown by Sub/Lt Peter Hutton, March 1943. Thoroughly enjoyable build even if I did conspire to screw it in a couple of places because of not reading the instructions  :banghead:

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That bad boy is clean, I love it.....   one like this but not nearly as good was one of my first airplane models as a child. Seeing this conjurs up nice memories..   I dig the exhaust.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Thanks lads.

As said it's a very nice kit with excellent fit and quite a few fiddly very small bits. Their new tool Tempest on the other hand whilst being a very nice kit with great fit is slightly simpler when it comes to the small, fiddly pieces front, which suits me very well

Progress on all fronts

However I had one of those "moments" with the Moonbat. I managed to get her painted, although I'm not convinced the Xtracolour used has fully dried even after 4 days , and had decided I could live with the canopy/fuselage join. Anyway after 3 days of looking at it and going "it's alright" I decided it wasn't. So I've spent most of my modelling time  this weekend working on it. I think it's almost there now and yes I do feel better inside for doing it

I function similarly. If it doesn't feel 100%, it will bug me to no end, so for my own long term sanity, I need to redo it, regardless of cost/effort involved

If you feel good, then it's worth the effort, Chris!
