I do know the feeling, since my "normal" work day commute starts before the sun's up, and can end after the sun's gone down.

Rather like my commute all those years (15) or so ago Scoot. The way things are have only really sprung on me over the last couple of years and I think the doc's have started to get to the bottom of it. Although as I've said to a couple of the lads it always worries you a tad when the Specialist says " your case is extremely interesting Mr Edwards"  ;)

One must always become concerned when the specialists say that.

What would be worse would be to be told your case will wind up in a textbook - or if the specialist mutters something about ordering a new Porsche/yacht...  :o ;D

Still far better than:

Dr.: "You have a very rare disease"

Patient: "What is it called?"

Dr.:  "What would you like it to be called?"
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Ah, that's where the NHS plays its part, and I speak as a child of it  ;)

Curable.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I'll settle for "liveable with" or even "controllable", which is where I think the path is leading, but we shall see.

Good day out with Nick yesterday at the National Army Museum in Chelsea and a couple of pints before and after. I'd forgotten how some of those Chelsea pubs off of Sloane Square are actually quite "normal" in terms of clientele and prices. You'd expect them to be Posh ?

Mind you we did see a few rather smart cars drive past and I think there were more Rollers per square mile then anywhere else in the country   ;D

Yes, thank Heaven for Free(ish) State Medical Care.  <_<

On a sliding scale, any of the above would be fine.

Hope things turn out ok, Chris.

What the gentleman above said.
I'm routing for you, Chris.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Bearing in mind I lost 4 days from the 1 Week Build I'm quite happy with progress. Managed to get the Spitfire fully assembled and almost ready for priming  So I managed to prove to myself that I can make progress when I put my mind to it, which is why I'd entered the 1 Week GB in the first place, always knew I'd never finish in time.

So I'll work on the Spitfire this coming week and pick out a couple of other projects from the stash. The 2 Tempest Mk II's might get some work done on them, but having got my motivation back I'm not going to risk losing it again, so they might get parked for another couple of weeks.

It's a shame about the Mk II's. They aren't bad kits, its just that the cowling fit takes some work and I think I'd got a little over excited about them (the Mk II is one of my favourite aircraft) and assumed they'd build as easily as the same companies Mk V and VI. They just need a little more effort.

Done very little over the last five days or so as I've been socialising (when you get to my age and a young lady suggests you meet for lunch even Spitfires get put to one side  ;)), but apart from some work on the Spitfire, detailed elsewhere, I did also get some work done on one of the Tempest II's. Might even get it to the stage when I can start thinking about paint in the next week or so, but "the real world" is due to kick in for a few days, so we will see.

As long as you're feeling good, Spitfires can wait.

Gradually making progress on all 3 current progress, indeed the Spitfire is just about ready for her transfers  Plus Surrey won last night

I was pursuing my normal Saturday practice of going through Hannants' new releases for the week this morning when I noticed that a company called IOM-Kit had released an F-4M Phantom. Now even Hannants state straight away that this is the old Frog tooling, so I had a look and it was originally released back in 1975. Currently going for £13.70 for a 47 year old kit, kept it's value quite well really  ;) I'm just surprised these old moulds are still lurking in some old warehouse in the depths of Ukraine (it would have been the USSR when it first went there) and someone pulls them out every few years or so.

Had an interesting encounter with the carpet monster yesterday afternoon. Was sorting out the last few bits of my Spitfire when I dropped one of the wheels. Now after scrabbling around on my hands and knees for 10 minutes or so I couldn't find it, so resorted to the spares box as I've a fair few Spitfire wheels or others that are the right size and broadly the correct style so I wasn't too bothered. Soon found a couple and fitted them and decided to call it a day as far as modelling was concerned as I was getting tired and hands and eyes were starting to get even more uncooperative than normal.

So made myself a cuppa and went into the living room and picked up a book. After an hour or so I glanced down and noticed what I thought was a piece of paper or similar on the floor (I had my reading specs on), but when I bent down to pick it up it was the missing Spitfire wheel  :-X I can only assume it had got caught up in either some folds on my polo shirt or shorts and had stayed there until I went into the living room where it dropped off. Or has the carpet monster got more adventurous and started to explore other rooms ?

Anyway said wheel has now joined its partner in the appropriate spares box.
