Meh, it's only rugby. When you guys learn how to play REAL football, then we'll talk! ;D

A) It's not FOOTball, they use their hands !

B) I don't think you could pay them enough to wear those silly vests  ;) ;D ;D

I have seen a live game of what you laughingly call Football a few years ago at the Oval. The original one not the one in Adelaide  ;)  ;)They put one on for a few years for all the Aussies living in London. Went with some Aussies from our local. Don't remember much after about midday  :drink:

I always refer back to the quote in 'Asterix in Britain' when describing the game to the Gauls:

"You have to get the ball over the opposing team's line. Anything is allowed, except the use of weapons without prior agreement."...

Says it all, really... :o

Any game where they regularly go 90 minutes without a score isn't worth watching.

I've both seen and played in some exceptional 0-0 draws. Very good games, far beter then some one sided ones I've seen, played in.

Now some numpty at F.I.F.A. is talking of making the game 30 mins. each way, but with the clock stopped every time the ball goes out of play or the game is otherwise stopped. The ref actually has the power to do that now or hasn't said numpty looked at the Laws of the game ?  :banghead:

Managed to get a little modeling done. Just a gentle start but some progress on all 3 kits that are currently on-going. Mainly painting but even the enamels I was using were drying almost on the brush.

Not great modelling weather but as there is nothing on the t.v. next week and as I have caught up with all the stuff recorded whilst away, I shall be modeling in the cooler evenings hopefully.

Ahhhh h hh hhh.......   "some progress on all 3 kits.... "

That's the ticket!

I can say a bit of the same... I've continued work on two formerly stalled builds for interim filler as I progress with my current NMF project.

I love the idea of "at least getting something done" on a kit. Then, I feel pretty good about not only getting something accomplished, but also feeling a bit less guilty for again focusing on my main project.

All 3 kits have reached the painting stage simultaneously. Not sure how I managed that as I like to have them at various stages of the process so I always have something to do on one whilst the paint is drying. May have to break a fourth out  ;)

Paints, even enamels, are drying far to quickly in the current heat and it's causing a few problems  :banghead:

Dead right there!

I sprayed some primer onto my Monterey last night, and it was so hot in The Loft that it was drying pretty much as soon as it left the nozzle of the can! It was like a pebble dash finish on the model, so I had to sand it all off and try again, with the nozzle about 3" away from the model.....

That'll be for TV.  So they can show adverts every time the clock is stopped.  And by taking the control of the stoppage away from the Ref they can delay the restart until the ad they are showing has finished.
That's how they do it here with televised AFL.  Pain in the backside.

Yup I realised that this morning when there was something else on the Breakfast News. Obviously important as I'll be darned if I can remember what it was  ;) The paying crowd is not important anymore. They just provide "atmosphere" and the t.v. channels regard them as a necessary inconvenience.

North American Football does that I think. A 1 hour game gets stretched out to 3 hours ------  :banghead:  (although I don't watch any of it though so I might be wrong).

I really do hate the way they use the word Football when they hardly ever kick the flippin thing  :banghead: One of my pet hates, same as Rugby using the word.

I think that they are working on the basis that 30 mins. actual play will take 45 mins in the proper game  ;)

Anyway got the undersides of all 3 current models done. Hopefully start on the top sides tomorrow. One is quite complicated so I might actually have to think about it and use a pencil to draw the demarcations out - be quite novel for me

Careful with that Chris, used a pencil one time to do the same thing, problem was the lead kept bleeding through the paint --- even after two, three coats were applied.
