I like the way they tilt the tailcodes so that read horizontally when the aircraft is on the ground.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Claude looks nice!  Looks a bit like the Spitfire, doesn't it?

It does, doesn't it. I now have plans to "backdate" an Airfix Spitfire MkI/!! into a "simple export fighter". Open cockpit, fixed undercarriage etc. Won't get started until post Telford though.

Had flu jab this morning, probably feel a bit to "iffy" to model for the next couple of days now.  :-\

Still struggling with this extremely runny nose, but have managed to get a little done. Both the Attacker and Whitley have reached the painting stage so there's been some progress

However I just realised today that 5 weeks tomorrow I'll be on my way to S.M.W. :o  Now given that I will need to get the U.K. S.I.G.'s Newsletter done next week that will leave me 4 weeks to get the remaining model for my "alternative" 1939 trio complete and it's not started yet. Should (he says  :banghead:) be enough time but who knows ? Does time pass more quickly the older you get ? Yes it flipping well does  :banghead:

Ack, guess what I am doing tonight rather than putting decals on a model  :banghead:

Thanks mate

Had a good look at my new Airfix Me 262 last night, took it out of the sealed bag. I think that there may well be a two seater on the cards. Not only are the fuselage halves on their own sprue but another sprue has drop tanks and their racks which are not used in the model.

Little tinkering done on both the Attacker and the Whitley but not much due to this flippin' bunged up nose I have  :banghead:

Instead I started to think in terms of a "what I want at Telford" list. So far it's all tools and other ancillaries, glues, paints etc. No kits yet. I'll have to whittle it down because I'll be able to get some at the London show in December which isn't so far to carry the heavy stuff and normally has a really good tools stand. However some of it will probably only be available at Telford, whence the list.

Feel better!! Sometimes the "the crud" just seems to want to hang around.

Anyway had one of those "what the ****" moments this morning. Test fitted a part and it was a perfect "click" fit. Applied glue and would it fit into place ? Would it heck  How the hell does that happen  :o ?

You could have left it 'clicked' in there and just given a brushfull of Mekpak around the joint. Job done.

I've noticed over the years that styrene swells slightly when cement is applied, it seems to be absorbed into the plastic but not all of the swelling is soft.

Don't think that's the case here but, could it be excessive glue for the space you're working with? I've had that a couple of times, cleaned up all glue and the parts would fit again... nowadays, using Tamiya extra thin cement, most of the time i do it like Kit said, fit the part first, apply some TET on the join and let the capillary action do it's thing. Harder to do with CA, which is what i was using when it happened to me.

I've never noticed it but makes sense. If the plastic is melting i guess it could be due to vapors being released in the process, making the plastic swell.

Man, that's what happened to me with my Nippon Go civil "Nell."  Test fitted dry about 5 times and was perfect... put the glue on and it was a disaster that didn't want to go together for love 'nor money then when I finally did get it glued together it was a misaligned mess that took eons to PSR.   :banghead:

What infuriates me even more Kit is that I knew that as soon as it wouldn't fit  :-\

Anyway some progress made on the two current kits although they will probably get parked soon as I want to make a serious start on No 3 Telford this weekend. I'll work on the other two in background during those "waiting for something to dry/set moments".
