Maybe we should have a Phantom GB?  I would of course build an old ill fitting Hasegawa version just to be awkward.

I still have the boxing where the shark mouths marked aircraft is pulling away after dumping it's load, marked up with a Beatties price tag for £1.80  :o

Built a couple of this boxing in the past including a few with a Hales label

This one?

That's the one I have.
I have built this one...

...which according to scalemates is the same mould.

A little bit more p.s.r., but I'm down to the Mr Surfacer 500 on the Tomahawk. Taking a little more care with this for some reason, probably because it's my fault it's in the state it's in, poor thing

Should be looking at paint sometime this week on all 3 current builds - Attacker, Tomahawk and 262. One deffinate wif, one definate real and one I'm not sure yet. Also want to get back to the PZL 42.

he juices are flowing again

I want to see the Tomahawk!!

I was bitten by the 'Hawk bug myself and couldn't stand it any more. Supposedly I started one (P-40N) last week but haven't even take any of it out of the bag yet.

Only 1/48 kit i've built was the Monogram P-40B, real world Flying Tigers, one fine looking plane, it is.

I got the Tomahawk, 262 and Attacker all cleaned up yesterday so painting can start today or tomorrow - domestic chores may intrude.

Also whilst cleaning the Tomahawk I had a bright idea for another one which this time will be wiffy, so will seek one out at Hudders

I'm tempted to dig the Attacker out.  I could do with a decent one in the line up.

It's a little bit of work Lee and the wing/fuselage joint isn't that strong (guess how I found out....twice ), but overall I've enjoyed it.

Meanwhile undersides on all have had two coats, probably need a third very thin one (greenstuff putty ) but doubt if will be today as it's rather parky in the model room.

Right undersides on all 3 projects are done and can now be masked off, in the case of the 2 British subjects, for their uppers, and there in lies a tail.

I'm planning on doing the Attacker in British Pacific Fleet markings as a kamikaze point interceptor. Now I must admit that even though my WWII Pacific campaign goes on until 1947 I'm really going to have to mess with the Attackers development timeline. For some reason I thought it was under active development at the end of WWII and was put on hold at the end of the War. Looking for something else last night I relearned that was not the case  :banghead: Still as the old adage and classic cop out says : "it's my model"

That wasn't what really got me going though. I'm going to do her in EDSG over Sky with the low demarcation line because I prefer that over the high demarcation. So I wanted to check out what happens to the Sky undersides when they reach the tailplane ? Does it stay as a straight line or does it rise up so as to meet the undersides of the tailplane ? Well it turns out you pays your money and takes your choice. I couldn't find any commonality at all when looking at both RAF and FAA aircraft. If anything it seems to have been left up to the manufacturer ? (someone will now prove this statement wrong  ;)) with Blackburn for instance rising up to the tail and Supermarine not. Some companies continued the underside colour onto the base of the rudder whilst others didn't ?

No idea why this really got me, but it did  Does anyone know if there were rules ?

Anyway mine will have the Sky continuing as a straight line, easier to mask  ;)

A straight line does IMO look better.
Although if given a choice i'll go for the high demarkation line.

Another point to ponder :

Whilst looking at Hannant's new arrivals this morning I suddenly thought "why do they call pre-orders back orders ?". Just seemed odd to me.

Cos when you order them the delivery will be in the future, but when stock arrives the orders were in the past.  Basic time travel really, please do keep up!

And as for the Attacker, follow the Seafire 46 scheme perhaps?

An Attacker project I'm going to do one day, is what RAE told Supermarine what it really needed, a nose wheel ---
