...Take some consolation that it shouldn't be too long before it subsides. I hope?

At which point we start complaining that its too cold and damp...

Yup  ;D Another month or so at the most  ;)

I guess I should be glad I do all my work inside, with the heat and AC and ... TV ... and.... all that stuff. Makes it awkward spraying and sanding sometimes but I ain't gotta "fight the elements."

This raises a fairly interesting question, however... I wonder how many European residents bought their first ever AC this year, with the heat wave and all. Beit window unit or throwing large money to have central installed.

had a AC unit for over 15 years, bought a good one, and only use it for a few hours at a time to cool a single room to sleep in around £240 well spent, paid for itself many times over.
and despite me saying to many people, many times, they still don't listen, and sleep badly and suffer ( shrug)

if this sort of heat happens regularly ill have to look at getting solar panels and a house AC to run of them ( hey crystal shade time,  ) I know how well modern panels run, the pond pump is driven off of them.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

AC could be Air-Conditioner or Air-Craft! I have no cooling device (except a fridge), no scale 1 aircraft, but many scale 1/72 aircraft models... ;)

You don't necessarily need air-con.  If you can get some air into the house and then move it around with ceiling fans then that goes a long way towards ensuring you sleep.
We have a cheap, huge and noisey Chinese made portable AC unit (Trunky is its name) as a last resort but generally on the hotter nights we sleep with all the doors and windows open and the fan in our bedroom running.
I predict fly screens making an appearance on european houses.

I have all the windows open and sleep as nature intended on top of the sheets, so far so good. Not had any real problems sleeping.

Anyway I was intending to not start another build while I was getting on with my RAF GB builds, but that idea has fallen by the wayside.

By the very nature of the two builds there's a fair amount of downtime whilst putty, glue and paint all dry thoroughly so I can proceed to the next phase. I was doing the "fiddly" bits, but now they are all done and I was getting tempted to rush things, one of my many failings  :banghead: So I've started another build for the GB. It will just be a fairly simple repaint wif, actually just a "different transfers wif" but should look ok. It's one of AZ's latest toolings and so far is fine. A little flash, but easy to clean up, the instructions are a little confusing, but that's down to them catering for 4 or 5 different versions of the thing and some of the parts actually have "this way up" arrows engraved on them

Of course by doing an AZ kit I now have to tackle an RS one to keep the world in kilter  ;) Kit has been selected.

Only has 25 parts plus a small etch sheet, which includes those weird Italian seat belts. Leather and chains

Fed the carpet monster  :banghead:

Plus dropped a small part which then broke the world long jump record for small plastic parts. I can't believe how far this one managed to get from my model desk. I only found it when I felt it under my foot while going across the room to get something.

Happened to me a couple of times, too. I was very intrigued about how an F-16's air data probe managed to land 2,5 meters from the desk, just by dropping straight down to the floor... Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction ;)

Very little done as I seem to have been struck down with something. Whatever it is, it's draining me. Still feeling a bit better today so hopefully tomorrow.

Still feeling rough, hopefully sort myself out next week. No idea what it is but whatever it is it's drained me completely.

Still been catching up with my reading

You'll be fine.  Just a touch of Lurgi.  Have you been near any children?  They are a prime vector of contamination & infection IME.
