Yeah, the increasing number of pre-dreadnought kits has had
me actively staying away from the shop websites, to prevent
impulse buying.
🤣

Yup. The Southern Expo model show always has a couple of specialist ship modeller traders and I was really surprised at some of the early stuff they had this year. Sorely tempted and even more so now I've seen the catalogue.

Reading the Airfix Magazine build on the Lightning (I'm a little behind in my reading) and realised that I've never built one. That may well have to be rectified post Telford ?

Got me thinking of other "iconic" aircraft that I've not built models of and that got me thinking of what I meant by iconic  :banghead: I need a drink

 ;D ;D
I love the occasional bun-fights that happen on the real airplane modelling boards
when someone asks the question about iconic aircraft, or posts a list reflecting their
personal opinion. Most times people are polite, will politely disagree, at other times ...
;D :banghead:
Quite hilarious at times.

NARSES2

Absolutely Jon. It's why I only ever have that type of conversation with people I know very, very well  ;)

Back from my travels and now need to get myself sorted out before I can get down to some modelling. Probably get started up again middle of next week ?

Meanwhile just realised it's 7 weeks to Telford  :o

WB!!!!   Better get after it, none of this next week nonsense.  ;D

Hell, I say that, but I have some planned breaks scheduled coming soon myself, two of them in fact.

Still no progress really although I will make some this coming weekend.....honest

Meanwhile October's SAM dropped through the letter box with a mighty thud and there's a nice build of the EE Lightning FGA.7 using the Airfix kit with the Freightdog conversion kit in what is a good issue.

Gradually getting the Mojo back and even more gradually making some progress. Hopefully I'll get the Mohawk and Whirlwind finished this week, hopefully  :-X

Hopefully (it's amazing how often I use that word in my blog/build posts  :-\) get the transfers on the SAI 207 in the next couple of days

I'm normally quite good at keeping track of things as I'm a dedicated list maker  ;D Goes back to my days at work when you needed to keep a careful track on the progress of both regular work and special projects. The problem tends to be getting the mojo back in harness and that's been compounded recently by some other factors.  :-\

Well I've started getting them on. I forgot how thin RS's are and how quickly they come off the backing paper, one wiff of water and they are off. Being thin you have to be a little careful with them, but overall they behave well.

I'm actually a little undecided as to whether the aircraft I am building is a Wif or not. RS give the impression on the box that the 3 options they offer are real world aircraft and indeed 13 out of an initial order for 2,000 were built. The contract was then replaced by an order for 4,000 of the improved S.A.I.403. So did some of the pre-production aircraft see service ? I need to do some research to try and find out. I think an e-mail to the leader of SIG Italia of which I'm a member is in order  ;)

Thanks Jon

Means the aircraft I'm building is real world.
