No progress at all so far this year, but it does seem to be the time of year when I get my payback for all those year's National Insurance payments I made  ;) Spent a few days sitting around in hospital waiting rooms having various annual checks. All appear to be o.k. (touching wood) so hopefully after I catch up with some household bits and bobs I can get some modelling done.

I know what I want to finish and then I know what I want to start, so we are part way there  ;D

No progress at all, just can't get my backside into gear  :-\ Not unusual for this time of year, I tend to call it Jaded January, and it's not just the modelling it affects.

Probably need to just sit it out, although I am hoping to use the Hannants voucher I got for Christmas this weekend so that might cheer me up a tad ?

Got my mojo running a little bit so am making some progress with various projects. However I had a perfect example yesterday afternoon of the problems my current (and it's here to stay) eye condition causes.

Now anyone who has built the Airfix 1/72 fabric wing Hurricane Mk I will know that it is typical of their current toolings and is well detailed and goes together very nicely. However it took me over 20 minutes yesterday just to fit the seat to the rear bulkhead  :banghead: Why ? Because I could just not get the thing centred on its mountings. I'd get it fitted and then look at it from the other side and it wasn't sitting right. After adjustment I looked at it again from the other side and it now wasn't right from that side. This went on for 20 minutes or so until I got to a compromise that I could live with, but it does show the problem I have.

My eye problem is mainly effecting my 3D vision, depth perception and judgment of distance. This is perhaps best shown up when I try to cut a slice of bread in half for instance. I'll cut it then look from another angle and instead of being 50/50 it's 55/45 (slightly exaggerated but you get my drift). If I stand the other side of the slice then it will look 45/55. So I actually don't know and can't tell which is correct ? The specialist says it's not going to get better and eventually my brain will start to learn how to compensate for it, although there will always be a problem.

So I just have to learn to accept that I'm not going to be able to finish my models to the standard I would like, but hey there's worse things in life.

Much sympathy, and I agree with your philosophy as outlined above.   We are both warm and vertical, which is better than the alternative.

Second that, just take it easy, mate.

Thanks

Meanwhile had an interesting one this morning, the carpet monster took a shine to a bottle of Hataka Polish Light Khaki ! I was giving it a good shake, along with a couple of other colours, when it slipped from my grasp, bounced off two walls (by the sound of it) and then disappeared  :o Took about 5 minutes to find it. Mind you I still haven't found the front piece of the Airfix Hurricane Mk I's radiator which I lost about 5 days ago, and I've tried the ultimate of walking in bare feet, so I cut the front piece off the one piece radiator from an old tooling of the Mk I which I had in the spares box.

My local Carpet Monster seems to have eaten my new(-ish) small camera! I can't find the blasted thing anywhere!  :banghead: :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
