No idea why but in looking at The Chaos's finished At-At I had an  image of one plodding through the snow to attack rebel positions and relieving it'self on the way in the same carefree way horses do  Now that would make an interesting conversion ?

Weird but I had a very similar image! ;D ;D

Not sure if that's a good sign or not ? Maybe just one of age  ;)

No progress. Think I'm getting a bit of reaction from yesterday's flu jab, although it's wearing off as the day wears on.

I managed to get the canopy framing done on the Breda, so I want to have a bit of a push as far as she's concerned this week.

Always good to be beyond framing and always offers a nice mood boost. Canopy work has to be my least favorite aspect of the hobby when all things are being "equal."

I'm certainly not a fan of getting it done, but this one was freestyle. Seriously the vacform's had no framing at all  :-\ Worst aspect of the kit.

Well all that now stands between the Breda and completion is a coat of flat varnish. So she should be finished this week. To be honest I'm not that happy with her, even with my eyesight issues I could and should have done a better job. I think it was the fact that it got parked on the "gone but not forgotten" shelf and when I did re-start it I didn't really collect my thoughts. With hindsight I should have treated it as a fresh project rather than one that was nearly complete. Still we live and learn and I have another in the stash along with the Azur/Fromme kit as well.

Meanwhile I've been musing a project to start on when I do finish it and I've found a Tamiya Douglas Skyray. It should be a relatively simple build and at the moment I'm toying with either Royal Australian or New Zealand Navies ? I think I have "Roo" and "Kiwi" roundels, but I will check before starting out.

Breda is almost there. Just needs her navigation lights and photo's done

I did check and I have got both Australian and New Zealand roundels so the Skyray may well be joining one of those services.

Breda is done, just need to organise her photos.

Been packing my models for Telford. Find I have an unintended theme ; FAA, 2 BPF and one Korea.

Not going to start anything new between now and Telford, so will be making a little progress on the Whitley (Wif) and CR 32 (Real World)

I like the look of that Breda. You'll have to teach me more about this period.

NARSES2

Well I've actually made a little progress since Telford, not much but at least it's progress

The Whitley has it's initial top camouflage colour on although this is giving me a slight headache. I really am not sure where I want the demarcation between the top and bottom colours to go ? Can't get my head around it for some reason ? I may well just say that as the top colours were painted at squadron level to suit the local environment they didn't feel the need to follow official guidelines. On the other hand I may find a photo/profile that suits my purposes and follow that.

The CR 32 continues to make slow but steady progress. It's the best way to go with any bi-plane and especially "short run" ones. I had a chat with Mr AZ at Telford about this and he gave me a couple of little tips about the best way forward

I've started on another AZ kit for my next project. Well say started, the Vought Kingfisher has had a thorough wash in soapy water to get rid of the mould release agent and some of the main parts have been test fitted. I'm thinking of her being a BPF catapult flight aircraft. Possibly a light or heavy cruiser. Need to get my BPF book out and check what cruisers were attached, then what catapult aircraft they actually had and then extrapolate.

The Breda looks great, Chris!!
Almost looks like a Portuguese P-36... don't think i'd seen those Hungarian markings before.

Thank you, however I think my rambling has confused you. I'd intended it to be Hungarian but the chevron style markings wouldn't fit. Therefore  the ones I used are Royal Bulgarian AF ones of the type that were used for about 3 years from 1938 until Bulgaria entered the War and started to use the black X on a white field.

Meanwhile the CR 32 has started to get it's undercarriage fitted now that I've worked out how it actually fits.....I think  I'll be starting to get some paint on this soon before I even think about the top wing, otherwise places will become difficult to get at.

ok... ;D don't blame your rambling, Chris, i believe that the confusion was caused by me reading stuff all groggy... Still,  i'd never seen those markings so i'm learning something new anyway.

Well I got there in the end. It's not AZ's fault, indeed I blame Fiat

I had the main vertical struts, which had been fitted earlier in the build, slightly out of their correct position, I only realised after trawling through a couple of books and finally finding a photo which showed the correct positioning. It was only a millimetre or two but it made a big difference. Anyway the undercarriage is fitted now and I've made a large note of it on my second kits instruction sheet
