Continuing the paint saga, I've just finished painting the undersides of the Whitley using Humbrol 33 matt black. Now it is what it says on the tub, very matt and very black. Covered nicely, but the surface feel once dry is incredibly rough, almost as rough as my medium grade sanding pads. No idea how many layers of Klear it will need to get it ready for transfers.

The CR 32 has had her third upper colour done and I think she is almost ready for transfers before thinking about attaching the upper wing.

So far she's had 3 coats of Klear and whilst better the area's that will receive transfers probably still need a couple more  :-\

Xmas is really starting to interfere with progress now (mind you the rubbish on the telly means I do have the evenings, providing there's not been to much  at lunchtime) so probably not much more will get done until over the break it'self.

Ticking along slowly on all 3 current projects. There won't be much progress between now and Christmas, but then the gap between then and New Year's should be a little more productive.

I must admit I'm pleased with how well the three colour upper camouflage scheme on the CR.32 has come out. The contrast between the three works well I think/hope (where's the fingers crossed smiley when you need it ?  ;))

Very little progress as I was really rough yesterday. Didn't get out of bed until midday and then just spent the rest of the day sprawled in an armchair, which is very unusual for me. Didn't feel capable of anything. Bit better today but still got aching muscles, had to go out though and will need to this weekend.......apparently it's Christmas ?  ;)

I'd like to get the CR32 ready for its upper wing and the Whitley its transfers over the break, but we shall see. I reckon us pensioners should get a few days holiday to compensate for all the workers being off this time of year and getting in our way  ;D

Hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself, friend. And don't let that thing called X-mas or something, get the best of you... ;)

Thanks, but hopefully it was just a 24/36 hour thing.

Absolutely!

My food shopping today was diabolical, mainly because of all these working people carrying all sorts of 'Christmas STUFF' in their trollies that extended out of the trolley into my intended path! Why would anyone need TWENTY rolls of wrapping paper, and long rolls at that!  :o

Yes, to-day I went to one of our local Garden Centres and got exactly what I wanted. Some British produced Charcuterie.
Then into a supermarket, it was horrible, why do they use the term SUPER in the title. It was a horrible experience.  :banghead:

1) I need to do our last  shop for odds and ends in Leominster  on Monday. I am NOT looking forward to it.
2)  20 rolls of wrapping paper???£$%""***^%&!! I  have no idea why, stupidity is suggested by Madame R as a possible answer.
3) Taking mum  (94 next month) shopping last Wednesday, Tesco in Carlisle had someone buying 8 (yes, eight)  12-packs of toilet paper.  That's 96 rolls!!  Is their cooking so appalling that they expect a period of severe intestinal distress after eating their  festive food?

Here's something that gets me about shopping, especially in larger places like a grocery store. In my mind, all the people and especially those with carts should adhere to traffic standards. Don't be the tool doing the wrong direction down the wrong side of the aisle with your mega cart full of crap and 16 kids. And don't treat the aisles like your own personal lounge, either. People that post up, block off a whole aisle or at least a big block of shelving while they let their kids run wild while they gab at length on a phone or even to another oblivious idiot standing there.

We refer to them as STUPIDmarkets.

The fun continues after the shopping as they bring them into the post office and are disappointed to find out that we do not have some sort of instantaneous matter transportation device and that it actually takes time to get their (badly packed, illiterately addressed, insufficiently secured) box of crap to the other side of the country, or in the case of the particularly stupid, the world.
Those who insist that they simply must get Uncle Heinricks xmas card to him before the day always without fail change their mind when informed that yes, we can express a card from Australia to Germany in four days but that it will cost them $50 to do so.

Following work this morning (no, I'm sorry.  If you want to use your passport as ID verification it does help if it hasn't expired) I went out onto the freight lift at the back of the building and observed the shopping centre car park.  Apparently the faster you enter the car park (in your german SUV) the more likely you are to get that one available space.  And if you happen to run over someone else's kids in the process?  Well that doesn't matter as they are someone else's.  Just as long as yours get everything they seem to think they are entitled to.

Xmas shoppers... that's just one of the reasons why i hate this time of the year... xmas doesn't mean much to me since i was a kid and seeing the hypocrisy that goes around with people pretending that they really care about the rest of the world, it makes me wanna puke.  :banghead:
"Oh, it's xmas, you have to be nice to everyone, let's give food and blankets to the poor..." What about the rest of the year? "Get of here, go find a job, you bum!" :banghead: :banghead:

EDIT: meant to say "Get OUT of here" but i guess it's easy to understand

Well I'm just about sorted for the coming festive season, as I explained to someone in the supermarket this morning : "they are only closed for one day you know ?" . Said supermarket is opening at 6:00am Monday and Tuesday, I'm partially minded to get up and pop up there to see how many people are queuing up outside ? Mind you I think it's a very small part of my mind that's minded and the rest is going to have a "few words" with it
