Right on....  I keep watching the mail.  I'm genuinely excited to see it arrive.

Trying to think of something on a current project that I can test it on. Barring that, I might just grab some old sprue pieces and do a few trials so long as I'm not "wasting" too much of my liquid stuff. Other experiments include putting a little drop of the liquid on a scrap of card & just leaving it somewhere for a few days to see what happens out of sheer curiosity. Might try some other wack-nut things like mixing it with super glue or something but we'll see....    Hell, I could do other things, too, like try laser pointers as the activator. I have a very powerful green one I'd like to try.

How does the UV get into the joint to activate the stuff?  Surely if the parts are a nice tight fit then no light will be able to penetrate?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I think that's one of the reasons it will have fairly limited uses ? Although it will be interesting to see how far the UV light can penetrate. I want to use it on a somewhat "fiddly" join, that needs to be glued at both ends at the same time and is quite awkward to get at. One of the reasons I need to be in the right mood and feeling up for the job. If it does work then it will get used quite a bit on this one kit.

I kind of see it as possibly being a useful tool for joints that sometimes seem to need you to grow a third hand ?

Gets me to thinking about aerial antenna wire...  I bet this stuff would be perfect for that!

My dentist uses amalgam for fillings which is UV curing.  That must have the same issue as the stuff poked down the hole into the tooth wouldn't be exposed to the UV.
So maybe there is a chain reaction meaning only a small part of the stuff needs to be exposed?

Yup, and bracing wires on biplanes/triplanes etc

Possibly

Progress, of sorts before my trip to Halifax and then all points North.

Whitley. Most of the canopy/turret framing is now done so it's getting there. I've really screwed this kit, for various reasons, but I will finish it even if I just take a couple of photos before it gets put in a box  :-\

Kingfisher. Main paintwork is now done. When I return she will get her transfers and then I'll attach the floats. Thoroughly enjoying this kit in complete contrast to the Whitley

Skyray. All the white areas are sprayed and she will get her upper surfaces painted on my return. I'll be on the lookout for some transfers for her at the Halifax show. Lovely kit, goes together before you know it, but then she is Tamiya

Finally caught up with site so perhaps I can get some actual modelling done next week ?

I want more Skyray action.  ;D  Can't wait to see that one. I have an Airfix kit I think but there's no way in hell it's better than the Tamiya one.

I've got an Airfix one too, bit I've never even seen a Tamiya one!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Well I wasn't aware Airfix had done one, so I suppose we're even ?  ;)

Meanwhile I still don't know what markings she will be in ? I've settled on the standard USN/USMC grey over white so that rules the FAA out. Was tempted with RAN, but I'm now coming around to Aeronvale to go with my Grumman Tiger ?

Meanwhile on a completely non modelling note. Whilst coming home from the pub and curry last night the bus was stuck in a rather narrow road by a double parked non-emergency ambulance. The really odd/worrying thing was the ambulance did not only have the normal NHS markings but also carried a rather large DHL working in partnership with the NHS logo  :-X So will we be sent home from hospital by Royal Mail Parcel Force soon ?  ;)

That'll be DHL running the wheelchair bus aka Patient Transport Service for the NHS. Non-emergency, no blue lights, limited medical staff, patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.

DHL held the Supply Chain contract for the NHS. This put them in charge of purchasing and delivering all the goods that the NHS uses like bandages, drugs and wheelchairs. They lost that contract in 2018. It is now managed by car spare parts suppliers, Unipart.
This is the same NHS that used Rentokil for their mortuary services....
You couldn't make it up.  ;D

TheChronicOne

Hmmm... might not be that unusual, at least in the case of DHL! They fly/flew DC-9 and the possibility exists that one or more were former Nightingales for the US Milititary which were flying ambulances of a sort.

DHL..... . "Da Hospital Lorry"   ?  ;D

Showing my age I suppose  After all I was born into what was a fairly new N.H.S. and still have fond memories of the care I received as a youngster with various issues and injuries.

So if parcel contractors are delivering patients, do they leave a "while you were out card" and take the patient to a depot if there is no-one in at home?
How long does the patient remain at the depot before being returned to sender?
