Slowly progressing and given that there is no football over the weekend I might make some more. Could mean I even get back to the Whitley . Will certainly pull my In The Navy GB kit out from its hiding place on the shelves.

I think the Kingfisher and Skyray are the first builds where I've actually accepted the limitations placed on me by my various ailments, which is a good sign. I certainly feel far more relaxed and the fact that I no longer get annoyed with myself for not being able to achieve the same standards as I could 18 months ago or so is another good sign. I'm learning to walk away and pick up a book when it gets a little to much for me rather then simply battling on regardless which actually was defeating the whole object of my modelling in the first place

Slight problem with the Kingfisher's main float. I used 5 minute epoxy to attach it and I must have got my proportions wrong when it came to mixing it, although I could have sworn I had it right, as it was still a tad "flexible" this morning, 48 hours after I glued it  :-\

Anyway a little super glue and Zip Kicker seems to have sorted it, touching wood

Kingfisher should be finished this week, Skyray has had the masking removed and is now being glossed ready for transfers which may take some time as I have one or two ideas in my mind that may prove fiddly to achieve.

And I have made the tiniest of progress with the Whitley.

And I have made the tiniest of progress with the Whitley.

A little bit more on this, but I really don't know how Airfix intend the rear turret to fit ? The instructions indicated it is a simple "drop in" job, but is it heck. Now this may be down to me and indeed I really am not sure that I fitted the turrets entrance doors, or whatever they are ?, correctly, but I can't see how they'd fit other than the way I've fitted them ? I'm putting it down to perhaps me building it slightly out of sequence, which I should know by now is a no, no with new tool Airfix kits.

Anyway some minor trimming and it fitted fine, so all's well that ends etc

Just managed to conduct the Kingfisher's topping out ceremony today (fitted the prop) so she can be called finished. Photos and a short background story latter in the week.

Other than that nothing modelling wise. I was having what my 4 year old great, great nephew calls "Uncle Chris's Wobbly Days"  ;D Doesn't stop me doing that much, but I've finally accepted I shouldn't force myself to model when it occurs.

Chris, you can't do at 67 years old what you could at 27........I speak with bitter experience of this matter.  Just accept the fact that Anno Domini can be a nuisance at times. Relax, go for a gentle stroll to enjoy the spring flowers/sunshine, drink Merlot/Pinot Grigio/Barolo and rejoice in the fact that you are a citizen of Whiffworld.  The Whitley (or whatever) will still be there tomorrow.

That's what's worrying me  ;D

Oh I'm now 68 by the way. Still not sure if that qualifies me as "elderly" on the "you can come into Sainsbury's early" scale though  ;)

I must have missed the bulletin affixed to the palace railings.  A belated Happy Birthday!!

Some shops in Herefordshire are using "Show your old codger's bus pass"  as the age line  so we both could get in early.

A "Captain Oates" comment from my diabetic brother in law regarding self isolation..........."I'm going in now, and I may be some time"

As good as way as any, and includes me  ;)

I actually asked the young ladies in Sainsburys and they hadn't been told by their management what the minimum age was  :-X

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Agree with Fred and Kit, that looks very good.
How about a pic of the Skyray?  ;)

Thank you Gents

Skyray will go up when she's finished  ;)

Big Booty Brenda with the Bouncing Bosoms. Very nice!!!

Yeah, I want to see the Skyray too but prying early pics out of Chris is fraught with danger.  ;D
