PZL has had her main paint work completed. Can now start on the detail parts and transfers.

Took the masking off the Phantom and then re-masked a couple of areas which will need touching up. Not to bad overall

Touching up done, so can move on with this. The PZL has started to have some transfers added and the He 162 is now a complete air-frame so I can start getting some paint on her. I'm very impressed with this kit, both the level of detail, thought that's gone into it's engineering and the fit

Well the PZL is basically finished, just needs some varnish and then a couple of bracing wires * and nav lights and she's ready for photos. Been very enjoyable once I got the interior sorted.

The He 162 is now on her legs (all 3 of them  ;)) and I've started to apply paint. I'm so impressed with this kit that I've ordered another. The only thing you have to watch with it is that it's so well engineered that the merest hint of paint on parts that are intended to be joined and they won't fit until cleaned. Mind you some of the test fitting is so good you don't need glue.

* Which she may or may not get, depends on mood and how my eyesight is behaving.

The Wooksta!

Hmmn.  I was thinking about getting one as I've always had a liking for the He 162.

Lee it's a lovely kit, thoroughly recommend it and it goes together remarkably quickly as well. The only thing I've found is that the sprue gates/attachment points are so delicate (the undercarriage leg mouldings are quite remarkable in the way they've been done) that I've found it easier and safer, for me at least, to remove the parts with a fine razor saw.

The PZL is finished, photo's tomorrow hopefully  and the He 162 has started to be get some paint on her. I like these very late war German types that were assembled from parts made in various scattered factories. Enables you to use the full range of late war and even mid war Luftwaffe camouflage colours  ;D

Dug out the next 2 projects as well. One will be my Polish Hurricane and the other will be a Ki-102b "Randy". Not sure if the latter is a wif or not ? I need to do a bit more research to see if the version I'm planing actually saw service or was still in the development phase when the War ended.

No other progress today as other "issues" have raised their heads  :-\. Still sorted now

The He 162 is continuing to get some paint and hopefully will start to get transfers over the weekend. I've sorted them out and they won't be that implausible.

Meanwhile I've started on the Randy's interior and done some digging. A few were used over Okinawa, but most were kept back in the Home Islands for the expected invasion. On top of that whilst it was tested the armament option I've chosen, she'll get a I-go 1b Otsu, wasn't used in combat. Or I can't find any reference to it having been anyway.

I looked up 'I-go Otsu', as I'd never heard of it before, and Google came up with a tank..............  :-\

What is it?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Sorry Kit I miss-read the blurb.

It's the I-go 1b Air to ground missile.

That's it Scoot. Japanese designations can get confusing.

NP Chris, thanks for clearing it up. I never knew the Japanese managed o do anything like that in WWII.

NP Chris, thanks for clearing it up. I never knew the Japanese managed o do anything like that in WWII.

They had a few air to ground missiles in development Kit and as per normal the Navy and Army were in competition. The Navy even had a couple of ground to air guided missile projects.

Right the Phantom is finished after a losing battle with Humbrol's satin varnish  :-\ If they call that "satin" then we obviously have a different definition of it. Pictures and backstory, what there is, tomorrow.

The He 162 has had her paintwork completed and is ready to start getting transfers.

The Sword Ki-102 is going well. The detail is a bit soft in places, most is excellent and there's some cleaning up of flash and mould lines, but nothing nasty. As for the fit ? So far I'm very impressed  I've also had to dig my enamel paints out for the interior, the exterior will be Tamiya, and that has meant I've once again realised just how good White Ensign enamels are. Superb paint

So as I like to have 3 projects on the go at any given time I've kick started my Polish Hurricane using the Airfix recent tooling and the unused transfers from the PZL P.7
