I've used Specsavers for the last 20 years, and have no complaints.

If I get no satisfaction with Boots (who I've used for 40 odd years) then I'm going to give Specsavers a try.

Unfortunately I have very bad eyesight and a complicated prescription so the slightest error is going to cause me problems. They've definitely screwed something this time as once the show season starts up again I'll be able to show those attending. I think they've tried to save money (increase their profit margin ?) and I'm suffering from it. Still we shall see - or maybe not

I made some progress with my AZ Me 109 E7 yesterday. It's an enjoyable build, Fit is excellent and the level of detail is good. It's just the instructions which are a bit perplexing in places and take a little bit of puzzling out. Problem is mainly with a couple of the internal parts which isn't helped by the parts not looking like their illustrations in the instructions. Probably go together quite quickly once the internals are done.

Still I've got there and perhaps we are getting spoiled by Airfix's new style instructions ?

I've used SpecSavers, which I believe is a UK-based company, for the last 14 years (ever since I needed spec's) & never had any issues with mine.

Only time I used the Australian company, OPSM, the spec's were just a fraction better than useless.

Good to know, as I need new ones and we have both chains here, too.
Sadly, their special offers won't be available for me as I have a different prescription for each eye... there's always a catch...

Continue to make progress with the 109. It'll need a little p.s.r., but this isn't down to the kit, but my flippin' specs  Indeed I've started to wear my old ones. Going to Boots on Monday (so I can go to the newly opened pub afterwards  ) and I will be cold, calm and angry with them.

As I've said it's a very nice kit and I'll be getting at least 1 other. I want to do a Vichy Air Force one and possibly one other

I learnt how to do something similar whilst working and was told I had a natural ability  It's quite amusing to see the look on someone's face when they've been trying to wind you up, so that you lose the thrust of your argument, but you don't lose it and instead concentrate your argument on an even weaker spot in their defence. You need to rehearse your own argument and figure out your "opponents" likely responses to each of your points.

Whilst working on the 109 I was thinking how nice it was of Willy to design it so that the real aircraft had a seam line running down the fuselage (obviously a closet modeller), but then I started to wonder just how visible that would in fact be from a scale 72 feet away (or 48/32/24 depending on the scale you work in) ?

Even then it's good to cleanse the mouth with water that has had the germs boiled out of it. As a last resort of course. A few natural leaves and some pasteurised milk won't hurt. It's practically a herbal remedy
