Managed to complete my One Week GB build on time (can be seen in the appropriate thread) which I was rather pleased about given that I've had the European Football on at the same time to distract me

Tidy the bench up tomorrow and then get back to my Beaufort some time during the week. Hoping to finish that before the Recce GB starts for which I have two builds lined up.

Tidied the bench up and it will probably stay tidy for a while as I have some UK PG Newsletter Editor duties to catch up on plus my "new" specs are giving me some serious issues (it shows in the B&V photos) and I need to go and chew Boots out yet again. Might get a little serious this time though, we shall see what there initial re-action is ? Doubt if I'll do much modelling before I get some answers, although I could go back to my previous specs ?

No modelling progress, most of my spare time has seen me wearing my UK SIG Newsletter Editor's hat, but that's just about done now. Won't have much time this coming week either as I've a few household and medical things to do, then I'll be catching up with Young Nick on Thursday. So hopefully modelling and the Recce GB builds next week

Day out with Nick yesterday.

RAF Museum at Hendon, then Hannants next door, then the pub down the road  Good day

Hopefully back to the bench Sunday, if not sometime next week. Want to get back to the Beaufort and start on my 2 Recce GB builds

It was a good day out
I've just recovered from all those beers - more in one day than I've had in nearly 18 months. :sleepy:
Trouble with ordering via an app is that you can look back and see how much you actually had and what it cost

I'm just glad the train from London Bridge had a toilet

At least they were only 3.8%  Just meant I felt a little "heavy" Friday morning. Not used to it any more

Made some progress on the Beaufort, mainly continued work on the interior, most of which will not be seen once closed up and on the engines. Still trying to find a suitable replacement for my Games Workshop Bolt Gun Metal to use on radial engine cylinders. Tried Tamiya Gun Metal today. It's ok'ish but hopefully the Croydon branch of GW will a) have some in on Thursday next and b) the lazy so and so's aren't at lunch again when I go  :banghead:

I want to get the fuselage of the Beaufort closed up before I start on my Recce' GB builds.

I could tell you a few stories about the times they didn't...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

So could I  I thought those days were long gone, but the older I get I am starting to get a little concerned and it's not because of the amount that gets drunk nowadays  :-\

And it won't be

Got the very busy interior fitted into the fuselage half and then slid the other half over the spars and it just clicked into place. Must admit I thought I might have some problems closing everything up around the interior, but it went like a dream  So far everything has fitted perfectly.

Engines and cowling sub-assemblies are now finished so really starting to make progress on this.

Sounding like a superb kit, Chris.

Hopefully we'll get more Downunder, eventually, & my "pre-order"* will be filled. :banghead:

It is a very nice kit, the only slight disappointment for me are the wheels. Most of Airfix's most recent releases have been a bit "soft" when it comes to wheel detail for some reason ? The Spitfire Vc is such that I've bought after market resin ones for my most recent buys.

I got an e-mail from Airfix the other day saying that the rest of their Beauforts had finally been delivered. So hopefully they'll be available "Down Under" soon. Like a lot of manufacturers they are only getting between a third and a half of their orders being fulfilled by Far Eastern/Chinese manufacturers at first hit. Seems to be affecting a lot of things over here.

I've got no problem with resin wheels. I use them most of the time now, anyway, as they tend to be more detailed & properly bulged.
