Ah yes, the Carpet Monster's Holding Area!

I've had similar things happen before, so every time I drop something now, the first thing I do is stand up and jump up and down a few times to shake the missing part off my clothes, where it's quite often hiding.

They're very devious, these tiny bits of plastic you know.

Nothing model related, but BBC 4 showed the last ever episode of Inspector Montalbano on Saturday night, the author of the books has died, so I recorded it and watched it last night.

Now only the Italian's could finish a long running (20 years) series in which the main character has had the same girlfriend, albeit 2 actresses, for the entire 20 years with him getting rid of her after he falls for a much younger model. Then after the new girlfriend tells him she's going off to pursue her career he stands there on the platform to say "chow" only for her to get off the train, abandon her career and embrace him. The series then finished with the pair of them holding hands on the platform. Can you imagine the uproar if the Beeb had finished a series like that ?

This summer of cricket gets even better. Root and Bairstow just destroyed India this morning and it was all over before lunch with England's highest ever run chase

I've had them drop into my shoe/slipper on occasion... mostly I find them before the 'crunch!', sometimes not...

In days of yore (and remember I'm the oldest UK SIG member here...) I once had one tiny part drop into the turn-ups of my trousers (told you I was old... ) and didn't find it for WEEKS!

I wore turnups back in the late 60's, early 70's when I was a "Suedehead". 1/4" ones on our tailored suits and strides. All in two tone, tonic mohair of course

Reasonably successful weekend. England beat Australia in the rugby, got thrashed by India in the T.20 and Palace beat Millwall 5 - 4 in their first pre-season friendly. They are off to Aus next week.

Modelling progress is dealt with elsewhere, but I probably pushed it a little to hard as by the time I called it a day on the Hurricane my hand/eye problems were causing some issues and then when the shakes came on that one last small piece just wouldn't go in. Got it done in the end, but perhaps shouldn't of ? Will probably be out of it for the rest of the day. Still my fault, no one else to blame. See you can tell I'm not a politician, I take responsibility

Looking to tackle a FAA Corsair next as a real world build. I'm trying to build a model of all the aircraft my dad may have seen, or fired at, during his service in the BPF.

Now I know I have to trim the wing tips, and have done it before, but for the life of me can't remember what happens to the navigation lights ?

Definitely pushed it a little to hard over the weekend, doubt very much indeed if I'll get any modelling done. I think my practice nurse  would be very, very disappointed with me 

Still there's plenty of reading to catch up on. I have a couple of English translations of French memoirs, one of the Franco-Prussian and the other of August 1914, that I've been meaning to start for ages.
