I suppose I've always had deadlines of kinds to make when I was working, so the habit stuck. Mind you as most of these are self set they are far easier to shrug off

Having issues with my printer and spending a fair bit of time trying to fix it. In the end it's probably cheaper and far less stress to buy a new, cheap HP one

One of the few things I miss about work, the ability to open my office door (it was normally open anyway) and holler "ELVIS" and get an instant response from our office IT guy  ;D  That was his actual name by the way  ;)

Followed by '. . . is back in the building!' would start any fan afresh.

I had pretty much the same arrangement.  in my office  it was  "Somebody give Darren a shout"  and within moments a spotty youth would appear and sort out the problem.

I met him the last time I was in Carlisle.......not so youthful, spots all cleared and running his own most successful computer advice and repair centre.
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

Elvis has since retired and we still meet up at the annual Head Office retirement bash

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

So he left the building?

Well I hope so because the entire office moved back to Croydon from St James after I'd retired  ;)

Good news. I actually got back to the bench for a couple of hours this morning   Various reasons why I haven't been near it, apart from some fleeting visits to check it's still there, but hopefully a sign of progress with various things.

Also managed to get back to some serious reading which I haven't felt like for a fair old while. Another good sign

The October edition of SAM has an interesting article on modelling history where it looks at the Frog/Novo set up and goes through some of the more interesting aspects of doing business with the Soviet Union in the 70's. Written by a Czech who lived through the period which adds even more interest to it. Lets just say that the Soviets held interesting views regarding quality control

Anyway the final kits sold in the UK were sold under the Red Star label who were marketed in the UK by CMS Marketing International who's trading address at that time I go past virtually every day on my way out for the paper and a coffee. Just added some extra interest.

An interesting and amusing article

Currently sitting at home with a mug of tea and an aching left arm which currently thinks it's a pin cushion. In the last couple of weeks it's had my Covid booster, this years Flue jab and this morning a Shingles vaccination. Still the crickets on at the moment and the Rugby League World Cup in a bit so a relaxing afternoon until Palace kick off  :-X

I honestly can't understand why you still have any kind of viewer numbers on anything else but the politics currently. Even I follow the "Four PM's and a Funeral" drama from over here..  ;)
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

I must admit I'm watching it and if I wasn't British I'd be enjoying it.  :banghead:  ;D

I won't say anything else otherwise I'd have to issue myself with a suspension  :-\
