A friend of mine Paul, yes I have some, got the new 1/48 Trumpeter Supermarine Spiteful at the Sword & Lance show in Darlington the other week and here's his finished model.  :thumbsup:
ps, he doesn't build Whatifs or so he keeps telling me. ;D

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

And he still hasn't built one. 6 RCAF squadrons were equipped with Spitefuls, some from the UK but many of them were built on the Canadian Vickers assembly line. They served in the Korean war, where many American pilots were envious of their abilities even against early jets. They claimed 18 enemy aircraft, including a number of MiG-15s. They were eventually retired in 1958, and plans for a ground attack variant were shelved along with them.

... it reminds me: people keep wanting Finnish Naval aircraft. How would a carrier with Seafangs fare in the Barents Sea?  :-\
